Kendall thinks the last day of the summer portal will be interesting for portal news.
That’s like predicting there will be high leverage baseball on the 2nd weekend in Omaha.

Some poor guy on the miss st on3 board DM'd the 64 analytics guy about it and he responded "about to enter into the portal". LOL

And something that might work against LSU this year is that these guys just won a natty. There's nothing new for guys like Frey to chase.

LSU now means Lefty and Southpaw University

Still hoping we can land Nate Taylor. To me he is the big fish of this portal class.

I agree. Something to be said about going out as a Champ.

Perfect Game just did an MLB Mock Draft and LSU commits Jaden Fauske and Quentin Young were taken #39 (Yankees) and #40 (L.A.), respectively. PG said that they were invited to bring their cameras into Quentin’s home to cover Draft day with his immediate & extended family. That’s not comforting.
(FYI, Kade was selected #2 overall)

For what it's worth, they are p*ssing themselves on the State On3 message board about Ace Reese coming to LSU. That is worth the price of admission just going through the comments whether or not it actually happens.

I know Jay and the staff aren't solely looking at the stat line. I'm sure Garcia has something specific we are looking for.
24 appearance
30.0 IP
18 hits
19 BB
40 K
9 WP
8 HR, 1 2B, 0 3B
4 saves
4.20 ERA

Stewart had to be a draft risk right?

looks like he has a high K rate but is wild. Yeskie must feel good about his ability to reign in Garcia's control.

had a really good end of the season
last 10 appearances
10.2 IP 1 ER 4 H 4 BB 21k
some definitely dialed it in after a rough start to the season
and he’s left handed something Jay cares about and covets
we likely have a Righty heavy starting rotation so lefties out the pen will be a premium.

8 HRs in 30 innings is a lot, but only 1 double. Really odd statline there. Wish there was an easy way to see all those HRs to see if there were some mitigating factors for the spike. You'd think if he was getting hit that hard, there'd be more doubles to go along with it. Seems like anything hit hard against him left the park.

Santi Garcia Baseball Cube
He reduced his BB9 jumping from JUCO in Arizona to Oregon. That JUCO league is very strong and he struck out 38 in 23.2 innings. It is a wooden bat league though.

I feel like this entire thing has been a complete message board creation, and when Reese doesn't enter the portal, the Moo State fans will pat themselves on the back about being the better program now.
They are so strange.

When guys go to JUCO for one year, then D1 for their second year, do they lose their draft eligibility and are required to stay at the D1 level for two years? Or do they maintain the original one year JUCO draft status?
