What’s the connection here? Seems like an odd destination for him

Plus the fact we travel to South Carolina despite just having gone there last season. I don’t get how they put those schedules together, has no rhyme or reason.

Haven't found the team that's like, ‘Yes, I'm on him.’ In some ways people seem more interested in some of the other high school arms. Signability [difficulties] might come into play, but the Dodgers are not afraid of high school arms.”
MLB.com has Schmidt going at 23 and this is what they are saying.

An OF of Brown, Larson, Pearson, Curiel, and Stanfield (hope he makes it) is starting to look a little nasty

Damn, i really wanted to play kentucky next year, when they come back down to earth. But at least we get to face Paul.
Also so weird not playing ole miss, gonna miss that series
Yeah with the old rotation we’d have been scheduled to go to Kentucky and South Carolina and Georgia would have come to the Box.
There’s no reason we should be traveling to both Texas and OU. I bet no other team has to do that.

Update from the Marshalls League
Pearson has had a good first week. In a limited 5 game, 20 PA, sample:
.471 BA
.550 OBP
1.118 SLG
2 2B
3 HR
2 BB
3 SO
It looks like he has played four games at 3B and one DH.
Ryan hasn’t played and presumably isn’t there.
Roellig is there and had a good week but not taking the time to type it all out unless it looks like he’s going to return.

Well I guess that tells you what Jay is thinking about that 3B spot next year.

“Johnny Tanks” doesn’t roll off the tongue the same way but screw it…that bat is promising!

Not sure if it really tells you anything about what he is thinking. He is probably just trying to get as many guys experience at 3B as possible knowing that someone needs to play there. Between Pearson and Kale Fountain (if he makes it) gives you great freshman options. Not sure Jay wants to go into the season with only having a couple freshman there though.

The Big bat on the team plays third often and you don’t need to be an exceptional skilled glove to play it but John has a ways to go if he’s going to play third in the SEC. Not saying he can’t get there. He’s more athletic than he looks. If his bat can be consistent enough to justify his power, I see him in a DH role freshman year. He’s a pull power hitter. Not exactly the same but think of Bear. He will be expected to hit bombs in the line up.

Ohio State just hired Campbell's coach.
Campbell has the type of roster that will create a feeding frenzy. They've recruited really well for several years now.

Jay will try anyone to see if they can stick. I don’t think it’s indicative of anything. Brady Neal, bear jones and I’m pretty sure milazzo all played some 3rd last offseason when white was recovering

What's the competition like in Marshalls League? Not familiar with that one...but talk about a hot start over 5 games, 2 doubles and 3 home runs

It's generally all a bunch of incoming freshmen, or maybe guys that just finished their freshman year. They're mostly all signed with or at schools out west, including JUCOs.
I wouldn't say it's on the level of the Prospect League or anything, but it's at least a bunch of guys that will be playing college baseball next year.

On the Campbell job, I do wonder if Josh Jordan's name comes up for it. It's not a major conference program, but it's a rising conference and it's in North Carolina, where he's from.

Would they offer him competitive pay to what he makes here would be my question. So many of these types of programs pay their baseball coaches like $200k-$300k/yr. Jordan is paid $310k in base pay here and not sure what he makes on top of that.
Would assume to lure him away it would take about a half mil or so.
