Nobody should be surprised. After all, the man tells the NCAA when he’s gonna play and when he’s not.

They are bringing in 7 top 100 guys which is insanely good, had 13 commits there before draft and lost 6 I believe.

For reference we brought in 6 top 100 players last class which was our best ever on paper, however all of those guys were top 65 so more elite than say the handful of guys in the 70s/80s/90s Ark has in their class. Arks highest ranked player they are bringing in is #46, we brought in 4 guys ranked higher than that in 2022.

Eh, to each their own. They treat me good. I am good friends with the co-host Randy. So I am a tad biased. I just like hearing athletes stories.

After the hurricane/non-hurricane debacle for the football team, I know Florida scheduled their homecoming football game for LSU in 2017. I’m not sure if they also had their ring ceremony during halftime of that game or not, but either way I call this payback.

LSU got the last laugh that day anyway.

Will they be done with fall practice by Nov 11? If not, Jay better lower his expectations that weekend.

They have a scrimmage on 11/12

For those that didn't have time to listen to the Jay Johnson interview on page 284,a couple of things caught my attention.

No final decision has been made on Shores for 2024. Bascially, they haven't ruled it out yet.

Gavin Guidry will not pitch in the Fall, but will in the Spring.

Riley Cooper pitched in more winning games in the last three years of college baseball than any other pitcher.

Jay is "Super high" on Frey.

Jay considers the 2024 pitching staff as a whole to be better than 2023. He also says we have more depth on the infield and outfield than 2023.

He wants Travinski to be able to hit all year, not just part of the year.

It was a good interview. Some nuggets in there for sure.

I think his tone and body language heavily implied he isn’t expected to contribute but he wasn’t going to say that definitively right now.

Shores had surgery in mid April. It is typically a 12-18 month recovery.

Even if he recovers in 12 months, will he be effective in 12 months? Would you keep someone off the 40 man roster to maybe have him in the post season? I personally don't see it happening and assumed he definitely wouldn't pitch in 2024. According to the interview "definitely" is too strong of a word.

Jay has a man crush on Frey. He has said he’s a future all American, golden spikes winner and told the north woods summer league coach he was getting a team changing player and the best player in the league. He’s talked him up so much I’m almost surprised he didn’t figure out some way to get him in the lineup most of the season.

He tried. He was nudging him in like he did with Pearson in 2022 but others just wouldn't go away and Frey never turned the corner. Obviously, Pearson ended up being a stud as 2022 progressed. This was Frey's first season concentrating on hitting. I'm not surprised a coach is high on a 6'5 specimen of an athlete that Frey is (former high school QB).

I still think that ball he hit out of the park that was called foul was a HR during the regular season. I think the only reason why it wasn’t challenged is because we were up around 9 runs or.

They had no where to play him in the field, that was the biggest issue

I think another issue was just him adjusting to competition. He didn't play many showcase type baseball games against really good competition because of football. He played in 2A baseball in Louisiana so the competition was a huge jump. He is doing well in the Northwoods league. Love the 25BB/16K and also has a .913 OPS. I think another offseason working with Jay and Chief and he can surprise people next season. The size and athleticism is undeniable.
