Do you think LSU did not also offer life changing money?

Not me, I’d commit to Bama and hold out until signing day then come to LSU for the exact same.

1 million is life changing? After taxes, and everyone gets a cut and their hand out that shite will be gone in less than 5 years.

There will be some wealthy strippers, though.

Would depend on how close the 2nd best offer was and what I truly thought about the staffs and which place has a better chance to put me in the league.

It’s the image, “I am a millionaire”. Time to get gold chains and a $200k sports car.

If I’d been offered that as an 18 year old, and the next guy offered me $200 more, I’d have gone with the money. When you can’t explain the difference (or see it all as the same) money always wins.

Now, if I could just go back 40 years, add a lot of speed, 50 pounds, and be 3 times as strong, I’d maybe be able to be a punter….

yes, if it is smartly invested at such a young age...but it will likely be spent with the swiftness...

Why is it assumed that every athlete who gets money will immediately blow it? Its the same repeated bullshite. A bunch of message board posters telling people how 1million dollars isn't real money.

I’d love to see Dre Kirkpatrick in this era. I bet he’d put on a hell of a show.

Well, I mean, because many do. That being said, how much is it going to cost to fly his family around each weekend to come see him play, or will he buy them a home up there? Seems like that will cut into some profits.

Watch the documentary “Broke” on Netflix. 2/3 of NFL players file for bankruptcy. Now project that on high school kids.

I didn’t say it wasn’t real.

I’m not sure what you make salary wise, but a million isn’t what it was 20+ years ago.
And you and I don’t have handlers and parents taking a cut after it’s taxed.

Is it better than what he had of course. Will he live better than he did, no doubt. I was taking about how far it will stretch. It’s not life changing. However it will temporarily change his life for sure.
Like Chicken mentioned maybe he’ll invest it and it could become life changing. I won’t hold my breath.

Exactly. With a 1/16 of the money they were making.

USC offered a Lifestyle change plus the money. Where would you rather live for 3 to 4 years Baton Rouge or Los Angeles?

Many do because you hear about them but you don't hear about the many many more who do not. I would imagine the family travel issue is covered by the deal.

Also, if he lives up to even half the hype this money will be followed by a more lucrative NFL contract.
