It was a joke at the beginning of the year. It wasn’t a joke the week before Tampa.

Also when calling someone an idiot, try not to end your sentences with a preposition. It speaks poorly to your education level. That knowledge is much more important than what position a 19 year old plays.

Now, back to the rant with you.

The 2019 offensive line won the Joe Moore award as the nation's best offensive line, but they really weren't. Joe Burrow and CEH made that line look better than it actually was.

Same with the 2023 line. Jayden Daniels mad the offensive line look better than it was. They were much improved, but they will have to play better in 2024, when LSU will have to rely on a pocket passer and a more conventional run game.

Monroe also keeps mentioning money. BK doesn’t overspend on things he doesn’t need. He has an all American starting LT. He has a prospect coming in that is miles more athletic than what Heard has shown in Weston Davis.

I’m tired of LSU fans saying LSU is poor. If we were poor we wouldn’t have the #1 overall player and qb committed, the #1 wr and the #1 rb. We would have paid arguably the top 2 defensive line coaches in the country to run that unit beating the likes of Texas and mizzou for their best coaches.

We are committing money and resources to positions of need. This transfer portal game has just started. Yall do realize that any portal commit can leave after spring ball right.

There is no need to rush into a contract with a kid until spring ball is over and we can determine what we truly need to spend money on.

You run a business on calculated, patient decision making not reactions.

There is also some advantage to waiting. By Spring. the new coaching staff will know better what they have, what they really need, and who is leaving.

_______________

Spot on. That is what our coaches are doing. And this staff keeps it close to the vest. Most of the comments on here are the opposite.

I believe the coaches want Heard to stay. He is a good player. I hope the negotiations work out. But at this time, Heard's camp apparently wants more money than the coaches want to give. It is a business decision.

Sssssoooo nnnnnoooo, it is not based on feelings. My opinion is based on several minutes of video of each player that HUDL supplies on them.

Lol. Ok. Well I hope you are right.

lmfao my guy, the word "that" is not a preposition. It can be used as several different parts of speech, depending on context, but a preposition is not one of them.

I actually don't think this is the case. Daniels was good at evading pressure and was obviously otherworldly as a scrambler, but he definitely invited a fair bit of pressure by holding the ball. There's nothing inherently wrong with that style of play--it's also how burrow played up until the 2022 season--and it was unquestionably the optimal approach for daniels given our offensive roster and his scrambling ability, but it's still technically the case that he was "responsible" for a lot of the pressures. In pass protection, the OL this past season was very good bordering on elite. I'd be shocked if it wasn't elite next season.

Maybe so, they are also moving their returning LT to RT so I would assume that has more to do with it

Let’s assume the 400k is real

I’d love for whomever runs the UT collective to tell me with a straight face how a guy with less than 3k instagram followers is going to generate enough money that his NIL rights are worth 400k

Because obviously it’s all above board and the collective is looking for a ROI on each player, right?

As a fan base we have got to stop drinking, gambling, and buying scratch off lottery tickets daily.

This money would be better served in the Bayou Collective.

If Tennessee paid him $400,000 a year, congratulations to him (but mostly his parents) because they just made off with the biggest robbery in college football history. He and his entourage shouldn't be paid that kind of money even if they walked into the AD's office brandishing pistols and wearing pantyhose over their heads.

Likely, he didn't get anything even close to that. Just po' folks tryna pretend they be rich.

Good for LSU.
