Ju'Juan Johnson throws a pick 6 with no time on the clock and makes no attempt to tackle the st Thomas more player. Just turns to his coaches and starts screaming and making hand motions like they did something wrong. Gets into verbal yelling match with a coach. With his athletic ability he could have easily stopped a touchdown from being scored! Most unbelievable thing I've ever seen down here.

Lot of what is being said on this is a nothing burger as mentioned. But this quote right here is a problem that needs to be addressed big time if true. I would be super pissed if he were my kid.

Same

But that kid needs an attitude adjustment. Piss poor body language. I saw him arguing with a coach when he threw pick 6 right before half yesterday. He didn’t want to go get his MVP trophy and when he got it, he threw it on the sidelines

That was all disappointing and we have seen flashes of that in the past. But I don't think it is as bad as it looks at least in part because it was his last chance to win a state championship and LCA's last chance to win a Div II.

Not a good look but he is a hypercompetitive high school kid and that is a fixable problem.

I agree he needs an attitude adjustment but it’s easier to reel a guy back in than having to put some fight in them. We need more guys on defense that have an attitude tbh. I don’t see a lot of guys putting their bodies on the line to make a tackle.

Talk about speaking out of both sides of your arse… “he has every right” “he will learn to control it”

Which is it? You saying he will learn to control it says you know it’s wrong clown. So he doesn’t have every right to be frustrated.

So he is going to transfer to Northwestern State and return to LSU as head coach 35 years later?

He's an immature 17 year old kid. Should he have conducted himself better? Sure. It's not an indictment on him as a player going forward though. Give me guys that show winning means something to them. We lacked that severely on defense this year. He'll be fine.

Is it? So what happens if he gets to campus and he’s not getting playing time or not treated like the king of the football field? How is his attitude going to be ?

Kid did the same thing against Ruston earlier in the year - pick and was less than interested in stopping the return. When I posted this did not bode well for him transitioning to db, the rantards were incensed. Doing the same in the championship shows a pattern LSU coaches should consider.

I get that he probably should have acted more respectful in receiving the award after the game. Having said that, after watching the video of the pick 6 not a single person on the planet would convince me that he could catch that dude all the way from the other side of the field. That tweet seems like a ridiculous take.

It doesn’t matter if he could catch. Since these kids start playing ball at age 5 they are taught to hustle and play through the whistle. He not only showed immaturity by pouting and not trying, he showed poor leadership and hustle. Something you expect your star players to do.

That is the player culture transformation Kelly has been trying to make.

The kid deserves another chance, but he has to change.

He just might. Living in Lafayette and knowing a couple HS coaches Johnson is about to see what it’s like not to be the most talented player on the field by a wide margin.

He either responds the right way or not.

I’m hearing more and more stories like this. Hope they are exaggerated and he responds to the challenge.

The kid is super competitive. When he gets in the defensive backfield I have zero doubt that he is going to put out maximum effort for his teammates. I think this is just an immaturity thing.

100% true , he was the one player that could have tackled the defender and avoided the touchdown by stm but he stood there and yelled at his coaches. The bad attitude after the game could be written off as competitive spirit but that was hard to watch. He will need to be aligned next year

I could live with the other stuff, maybe even commiserate. The in-game attitude and entitlement is a major red flag
