To add some more info to OP's post, Persi entered the portal this morning and would be a nice experienced add to the OL.

Persi appeared in 38 games in his Michigan career, including 14 on the offensive line with three starts at left tackle. He was part of Michigan’s Joe Moore Award-winning lines in 2021-22 as a reserve and is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree (2021-22, 2024).

Good lord, how long does it take to get “cleared” to enter the portal? Michigans last game was 15 days ago.

Grad transfers can enter the portal at anytime. They don’t have to follow the portal window dates.

I may be in the minority but the OL has been the best recruited position during BK's tenure. I don't hate developing what we have imo. Curne and Chester were ranked about where Will was coming out of high school. Let these guys cut their teeth.

Even if it means a 3 point loss in Clemson because the young guy had growing pains and missed a few key blocks? Remember Mubengas first 2 games vs his last 2? We don’t have the luxury to wait and see. Bring them in and let the compete this summer.
Kelly wasted Daniels, Nabers and Thomas. He’s trying not to make that mistake again.

He only played in a few games the last couple of years.

The one yr he played more was 21-22.

Seems like more of a backup. I doubt they bring this kid in.

Surely Weston, Adams et al have to be better than this dude who didn't get run in 4 years at Michigan

Agree Chalky, we don’t need backups. We have plenty OL depth on the roster. Weston Davis, Coen Echols and Ory Williams need to step up. One of these guys should be ready.

Agreed. He started twice last year. Amazing that he stayed at Michigan that long.

We need a PROVEN plug & play OT. I really don't think this guy fits the bill.

He doesn't even have to be a LT imo. I'd settle for a proven RT if that's all that's available. We need starters in general.

Nothing wrong with setting a standard.

I’m with you on this one. The one thing you can never say about BK at any place he’s been in that the Oline suffered. If nothing else, BK is an offensive line mastermind.

Likely a Grad Transfer. Even at a school as academically challenging as Michigan, his high school's academic credentials are no slouch. Probably had a number of AP credits before he stepped on campus in Ann Arbor.

I looked into him when he entered the portal and pretty quickly lost interest. His PFF grades are atrocious, he was like the 4th worst graded player on their roster. I’ll try to find the graphics and post them but this isn’t a take, imo.
