They have equivalent money to A&M but they are less gay. They are definitely going to be good now with Sark and the SEC.

TCU made the playoffs… So did Washington. Are they elite?

Huh? What does that have to do with what I said?

Texas is a really prime spot for recruits. It’s not surprising. Gotta step up.

A texas-based school reeling in top recruits and some of y'all are acting like it's a done deal and they're gonna win titles.

Pretty sure aggie showed everyone you still have to get it done on the field.

Sark is 10 years into his career and he finally got his first 10 win season...in the Big 12.

Let's pump the brakes on texas being at the top of the mountain until they actually do something in a real conference.

I don't know much about Hankton.
What do the players say about his ability to develop receivers?

He announced this early?

I got the CBS sports alert with video about 8:30.
I actually forgot he was committing. I didn’t think we’d pull him anyway. Absolutely no smoke other than being a hat on the table.

I would imagine Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik Nabers have pretty good things to say.

Neither were 5-stars coming out of high school and both ended up as 1st rounders.

I’m not sure what you mean by “handle all the talent” but making the 4 team playoff is pretty good

Once again, why do LSU fans sweat the WR position. Even in our “down years” we still put Chark and Gage in the NFL. Don’t sleep on Parker, Billiot, Watkins and Sampson. We will also use Pimpton, Green and Berry a lot in the passing game.
One thing everyone sleeps on is the transfer portal. This isn’t the old days where missing high school recruits killed you. Now we can dip in to the portal and fill holes. The main thing we need to focus on is building our defense back to elite level, keep killing oline recruiting and keep bringing in the QB’s. WR’s and RB’s grow on trees in Louisiana.

I have no inside knowledge but my take is that we know we can "shake a tree in Louisiana and WRs come falling out" so we are spending our bigger NIL bucks on positions we can't stock in state such as OL.

Just my guess.

I'm still confused as to what you are trying to say. Just say exactly what you are trying to say.

Are you high? We have one out-of-state receiver in the top 50 overall, plus the two best in-state receivers in this cycle. The only difference between this cycle's receiver group and our very best ever WR hauls is that there aren't multiple top-100 overall receivers in Louisiana this year.

In any event, a lot can change between now and signing day in terms of both rankings and further additions. Entering his senior season, Kylan Billiot was ranked similarly to where Phillip Wright is currently (and behind where francis is), and Billiot ended the cycle as a top ~100 overall guy. Francis and Wright both have the track times to make big jumps if they perform this year. Hell, the same could even be said for Meadows. Like, there's a very realistic outcome where we finish up this cycle and we have a universal 5* receiver and two other guys in the top 150 nationally. On top of that I wouldn't be surprised if we added another guy, too.

And even beyond all that: WR is a position where, *especially* if you have the big time QB and the offensive infrastructure already in place, it's absolutely possible to go portal hunting and land a stud. If you made me bet on it, I'd bet that we won't have a need to go after a top portal WR - but if we do, it's a position where guys can 100% be had.

Bottom line: I'm sorry but the idea that we are "getting cooked on the trail" at the WR position is just ludicrous. Last year we landed 3 4*, including one in the top 100 overall and another in the top ~125, plus trey'dez green, who you could consider a WR if you wanted to, and this year we've got a top 50 overall guy, another 4*, and a high-3* we like. If that's "getting cooked" then boy it's gonna be an absolutely terrifying sight if we ever start losing only modestly. On that scale, average has gotta be like 3 5*s in a cycle.

Word. WR is the one position I never worry about. If a coach can’t find 3-4 really good WR any given year in La then he’s not trying

I love getting highly ranked WRs like the rest of us but we’ll be fine with the Louisiana produces WRs.

Both you and the guy you are responding to are a bit extreme. We have some WR talent coming in as you say, but we also whiffed on our top choices. I expect us to add another WR. We will be working on flipping someone all year.

Wr is not a position I worry about. La athletes are always terribly underrated. Id go as far as to say that the lower star LA Wr we have will be as good or better in three years.
