Then Bo Davis can legally poach TX players. This could a be whole new recruiting season for us!

Good Point. But I’d rather have the defensive players on Bama’s roster.

We can get a few of both. Whichever coach goes to Bama you’re probably going to be looking at all new staffs. Definitely some opportunity there. At the time when we desperately need it.

Question, does the coaching change only apply to head coach or position as well. In other words with Bo Davis leaving Texas, do the Texas recruits (high school or transfer) have the ability to get out of their LOI?

My understanding is it ONLY applies to the head coach leaving....not your position coach leaving.

right, but if Saban leaves and Sark / Lanning / etc. leave to fill Bama spot, then that school falls under same scenario as does the next school who loses a HC to fill UT / Oregon / etc and so on and so on.

Saban just reopened the xfer portal for the country.

Bo wasn't really responsible for landing any highly ranked players at Texas. That's not a knock on him, he's a great coach and our DL improved significantly under him. Look at our recruiting though, we haven't landed a top DT in many years. We did just get a commitment from a 2025 Florida DL guy that loved Bo, so I would be surprised if he didn't flip.

I pretty sure that the rule is only for a head coach moving on

If Bama gets Sarkisian…

You’ll know that Sarkisian is not nearly as smart as we thought he was.

i'd have to think Sark is option 3 or 4 on the list, if not lower...
Lanning, DeBoer, Norvell, and probably even Kiffin would be above him... hell, i'm not sure he'd even take the job if it did get down to him and they offered...

very big shoes to fill, he knows that first hand

A commitment to Texas seemed imminent within days but Bobby Burton said today that the Bo news has complicated things. That's all I have right now, no doubt Bo will pushing hard for him.

No way they would take Kiffin over Sark.
