there is no universe that this kid ends up a Tiger, even in December... and it's okay... missing on this kid does not make or break LSU football

We have one 3* DL committed for this class and that’s it.

Right now you have 16 DT, DE’s on the roster, only one is a Sr, now you might lose 2 Jrs. But we have a ton of youth at the position within the roster. I also know Fitz West has moved to that side of the ball, so that’s another.
If you’ve followed Kelly, he’s built rosters at every stop. To think LSU played in a bowl game with a WR playing QB. Talk about a cluster of a roster.

Van was never coming to LSU.

blows my mind how this staff hasn't been able to recruit DTs out of high school the last two years...

games are won in the trenches and they failed miserably on the defensive side

maybe theyll get committs from a couple 3 star DT later on that this board can go nuts for and tell everyone how great theyll be

I'd like to see him circle back on that one. If anything when Kelly got hired we were all told that he doesn't like to recruit which was one thing we hated to hear

I hope he chooses LSU but looking at his pictures he
doesnt look the like the phsyical presence for a 5 star.
He doesn`t have the body type of a stud.We will see.

He probably won't. Texas has plenty of jobs, so does the NFL.

Why don’t you go look at the top 100 players in cfb and 2024 draft big boards and see how many low 4* and 3* DTs are in there

Our most productive DT on the team was a 3*

LSU hasn’t had a 5* DT pan out since Dorsey
Hopefully smith changes that this year

If I'm not mistaken it's the hardest position to project

One of them
I’d put QB and OL as the hardest

It seems a lot of our top guys have had injury issues. Rashard Lawrence, J. Roy and Maason were/are all DTs that have seemed to struggle with staying healthy.

Quarterback is the hardest because the guys evaluating QBs are so used to measurables being of upmost importance, they overweight measurables to the detriment of what matters: accuracy, footwork/pocket presence, vision, football IQ and toughness. It's why guys like TJ Finley (who had zero of these traits) get highly rated and a Stetson Bennett (who was elite in all of these traits) gets overlooked.

OL is next. Because there is a limited universe. Unlike QB, the measurables do matter. You have to have a certain amount of length and a frame to grow into. It's just a fact. Especially at tackle. Shorter guys can play guard but shorter in this context is 6'3". There are a very small number of humans who fit the mold and then you have to figure out which ones are hard workers, which ones are mean sobs and which ones are flexible enough.

DL is next. DL measurables are less about height but about girth and power. Mehki Wingo is 5'11" but he's very good because he's powerful, nimble and fast.

Yup, UGA could’ve moved to BR and Van Pran was leaving.

Why? The same posters shitting on LA on the OT board whine the loudest when LA HS recruits leave for the same greener pastures.
