Sorry, but any player in the country that receives an offer like Michigan gave him should take it. It is the contract amount that is shameful.

Sure, but I wouldn't pay that much for him. If he's cheap then yeah. I don't sense phenom in those jeans though. Dave Portnoy likely has buyers remorse.

I think LK is prepared to spend $3-4M on a QB every year
Posted on 12/11/25 at 8:27 am to jafari rastaman
that would be a huge mistake according to my MI friends. BU is way behind other portal QB's

We have enough $ for Underwood if we want to pursue him. I feel highly confident that LSU will land a top tier portal QB.

If Portnoy is still committed to paying Underwood $3 million per year, he won't be leaving Michigan. After this season, no one is going to pay him that much or more.
If Underwood cares more about development and his future in the NFL than he does immediate wealth, then he will be open to taking a pay cut to work with the program that fits him the best to ensure he's in a position to make more in the NFL.

To get Underwood to leave Michigan you would have to outbid them. We would likely have to pony up 5 million a year for him. Not worth it IMO

Has he indicated in any way that he is even thinking of leaving Michigan?

No. People are assuming bc Moore got the boot he will leave. If anything Moore getting fired helps the kid, bc they’ll likely get a coach to help actually develop him.

Someone said he took all the Michigan stuff out of his Social Media bio last night but I haven't looked to confirm that

I saw him talking about this a week ago and he basically said they would not be spending to keep him around if he wanted out or to renegotiate
Here it is.

I guess, but it still depends who they hire. What if other key players want out?
What if he just wants out? Seems like a good opportunity to get out now if he does.
I don't assume he will leave, but I do think he might be considering it. We shall see.

Dude proved one thing for sure, shows loyalty to himself. I for one don't blame him but he exemplifies what's wrong with college football. Do not want.
LSU needs more dogs!
You want loyalty? You don't think those top DBs we got came here for bubble gum do you? You think somebody else offered them double and they decided to come here instead? Why are people acting so naive? These kids grow up in the same world you do. They have the same access to how adults act and do things, just like you do. Kid got paid twice as much, TO STAY HOME! We're talking 3rd round pick money.
Anyway, if we can get him at a reasonable price (under 2 mill), i say bring him here. If not. Move on.

Sad thing is, you'll have a small roster if you dont want any of these kids cause all of them have loyalty to themselves first.
The numbers dogs as you say who have loyalty to the school first are dwindling quickly.

Last year we spent our Underwood money on The Portal and were excited with the #1 transfer class in the country. Some were even thanking Underwood for not coming here, because of our Portal rank. It didn’t work out well.
It worked out well on defense. If they had had Kiffin and his offensive coaching staff, they would have been a playoff team with those players. The question mark would be the health of Nussmeier or if they could have developed Van Buren.

for the first time in a very long time, I completely trust the guy running the show to pick his QB, if he wants underwood than I do

Underwood can go kick rocks…he made his decision
Posted on 12/11/25 at 10:34 am to DeathValleyBones
Underwood is a lesson that
A) paying true freshman qbs huge amounts of money is a bad idea
B) it can also be a bad idea to accept such a deal as a qb. Everything you do is under the microscope, so you better produce.

What an awful take.
I wont blame a guy for taking $10M. That's life changing money and his parents will never have to work again.
