I remember O telling Tennessee recruits on a Sunday am wrap-up meeting during a Knoxville official visit to “Come to Southern California” when Kiffen was just named USC’s coach. POS thing to do. Glad to see CBK not doing that. Now if the recruit reaches out that is a different story…

If it pisses you off then tell us what recruits ND has committed that would be interested in LSU. Have you looked at their class? Their highest rated recruit doesn’t even list LSU among a list of about 40 schools. Several kids from places we’d likely have no shot at getting. They have a Texas RB committed ranked behind Moss, Citizen and Etienne.

Plus of all the schools in the country, these kids are committing to Notre Dame and not the coach.

When I saw him answer he just deflected away and never answered and just went back to we need to focus on the base first. This tells me he will be calling some of them but just wasn’t gonna blast it over the media

His first priority is probably putting a staff together this week. Then try and pry an OL or 3 from somewhere. Also the type of players committed to ND that we would want are are 4.0 gpa blue collar working corn fed OL. Not the type to decommit and leave on a moments notice for a HC unlike a flashy narcissistic skills player that Riley would bring with him.

What if he thinks they are quite up to SEC quality? Ever think of that, genius?

If a kid called him and wanted in, he is not going to turn them down

But he is not going to make the first move on the kid.

I find it hilarious that somehow Lincoln Riley is a good boy while pilfering OU for recruits and coaches….and BK is a bad, bad, mean boy

With ND keeping all the assistants most probably aren't interested in leaving.

I don't see the type of player that wants to commit to Notre Dame wanting to commit to LSU. It's totally different type of school and atmosphere.

Because some of them are talented...

And who cares about “class”. It’s college football. It’s about winning games. Who cares if we offend ND. We’ve already offended ND.

And it ain’t like Kelly is some saint anyway. He’s killed a kid. So it’s not like he’s above being a douchebag, go get the best players to win games.

Sneed is a 5 star from South Carolina.
Williams high 4 star WR from CA
And so on.

They have 10 players committed inside the top 200. 9 in the top 157. LSU would be happy to have some of that “ND Talent”

The entire reason he's here is that he wanted a higher caliber of recruits.

I don't see anyone on their commit list that's worth dumping a ton of time on to flip.

what would Saban do? Y’all know damn well what he’d do, and he has the championships to back him up.

Give Kelly some time. You care to remember all the way back when Saban entered the SEC? He was offended that other teams kept going after players that were ‘committed’ to LSU. Kelly will learn the rules of SEC recruiting.

not going after any ND recruits

I don't even think this is really what he said. He just said first and foremost he's going to re-recruit the guys already committed. He didn't say anything really beyond that.

quote:

Q. Will you be looking to target any of the Notre Dame commits that are currently committed to that program for here? Also, a larger question about your approach to recruiting in the SEC in general now.

BRIAN KELLY: The most important thing in recruiting is to take care of your base first. My focus will be on those that have made a decision to come to LSU. So we'll be reaching out to those young men first and foremost. That's the most important thing.

You can be assured that our focus and direction relative to recruiting will be on the young men that have already decided to come to LSU. That will be our
direction.

The second question? Or did that cover both?

Q. Will you be looking to target some of the Notre Dame commits who are currently committed to that program and looking to bring them here?

BRIAN KELLY: No, I think what my comments would be relative to recruiting is first and foremost let's take care of our base. Let's recruit those young men
that have already pledged themselves to Louisiana State University.

When I heard the press conference, I didn't take that no at the beginning of his second answer literally "no, I will not recruit ND guys. It was more of a throwaway or like "no, I'm not going to comment on that, I think what my comments..."

Does it matter) he’s going to try as hard as possible to keep the decommits to a minimum and then filling out the rest of the class with players that he thinks fit our needs and it will likely be a heavy “diamond in the rough” type class with the last guys.

I trust Kelly to find some kids that aren’t ranked as high as we usually get , especially o line. They will still be at least 3 stars and likely 4 s but the best players are gonna be hard to get before esd

It doesn't really matter to me. They've got a few stud LBs committed, but you have to think those guys won't be going anywhere since Freeman was name HC.

He’s already sent Raymond in to visit with a former ND commit. He decommitted when CBK left. He’s a 4*DB out of Fla. Devin Moore 247 Recruiting Profile

He already held an offer from LSU
