I’ll write this one off then. BK has a great budgeting strategy IMO and it doesn’t involve desperately throwing as much money as he can at every kid he wants. I don’t think we’ll get any kids who mainly want money regardless of if they’re being noble or greedy. Sucks but I think BK is too smart to start playing the bidding war game and the program will be better off for it

Don’t write him off too soon, remember the Perkins-A&M saga. He apparently even took less but more so due to his family ties to Louisiana. However, Simmons seemed enthralled with LSU, I can imagine they can get it to work. As you’ve said, Kelly does a great job with how he spends money. Simmons could be a legitimate elite game changer and bring some four star and even upcoming five stars along with him. Kelly matching for Simmons to strengthen the D’Ville pipeline, could be a crucial aspect going forward.

I’d rather have a locker room full of 4 stars that really want to be here and will work hard to be the best they can be than a few 5 stars that are only here because we paid them more.

I’d rather have 5*’s like Harold Perkins who don’t frick up the locker room because they’re getting paid 4x more than most of our best upperclassmen before they play a snap

This is exactly the type of playar the Nil collective was set up at LSU for. Kelly wants high character players but he's not dumb either, he knows he's going to have to pay sometimes, even for high character players in this day and age
