Very curious, besides the obvious,
OL
DL
Safety

Who else do we take?

The lines.

If you can get the corners who are committed to sign, they will all contribute immediately.

Defensive line is a different beast. To be able to compete we need a lot of depth that we can rotate.

Offensive line because of what we lose. We need numbers in hopes of hitting on some guys to be our primary tackles.

If Nuss leaves, that is absolutely a priority. If he is coming back, I'd search for a Sophomore or Junior transfer. I have a lot of faith in Hurley, but not for another couple years.

We need :

1 starting OT
1 starting DT
1 Starting SDE 300 lbs plus
1 Starting MLB
2 starting Safeties
1 Starting WR
1 QB (dual threat) that can push Nuss for playing time

He said in his press conference yesterday they are looking at veteran players where we have good young but inexperienced players to fill that experience gap. It will be interesting to see where the coaches believe they have gaps based on who has progressed from the 22, 23, and 24 classes. I don’t think true freshman are going to be starters this year. He specifically said looking for PROGRAM contributors who will perform as a team.

How do they inexperienced get experience if we dip in to the portal non-stop? I think we have plenty of talent at LB to fill the void. What we need are safeties. If our young guys can’t even split reps with our current shite safeties then we need to get in to the portal asap.
We have plenty of experience and talent at CB if we keep these guys committed and we keep Stamps and Woodland. What is shocking to me is that Toviano, Spears and and Jackson can’t find the field.

The portal needs are:
2 Safeties
1 DL
2 Oline
1 WR1
1 experienced RB
1 blocking TE

Safety. Overspend here to get the best available.
OL. A center and a tackle.
DL. Always add good DL if available
WR. Need a good, tall one to complement Anderson and Thomas
CB. Studs coming in from high school, but would like a good veteran to help bridge the gap

is that what we’re calling the guy who lines up next to Swinson or would that be a replacement for Jones?

I don't think we need 2 safeties. I also don't want to man the position with multiple transfers. I think Spears as one safety and then a portal safety, the best one they got.

Yes to one guard and one tackle, would like a guy who started for at least a year. At worst he becomes experienced depth.

Yes to 2 DL, however i want at least top 3 best DT we can get, and then one that it as least starter good (we need a solid 5 man rotation). Would rather they be one and dones.

I like our up and coming Ends, but i wouldn't mind getting one for depth.

Yes to the best inside linebacker. We need a guy who can command the whole defense.

One WR, but ONLY if we lose 3 or more WRs, and only if he is crazy good. IMO Daniels, Anderson, Green, Parker, and Billiot will be your top 5 guys. Thomas is your gadget guy/#2 slot. I like frshman Francis and Wright to get some opportunities too.

1 blocking TE. We desperately need a blocking TE. The good thing is, we won't have to offer the guy an arm and a leg either.

That's 9 guys tops.

You absolutely have to have a backup plan incase Nuss turns out to be Brennan and not Burrow.

I don’t think quality backup really exists in the portal.

who’s transffering in case Nuss gets hurt?

What a stupid fricking take. Nuss, for all his flaws, has never missed a game due to injury. That was Brennan's problem, staying healthy.

Any player at any position that they feel is an improvement over the guy they'll be replacing. No one's job should be safe. Of course we know that's not how it will play out but it should be. There's no one on our roster that I believe should be cemented as a starter at their position short of the OTs who likely won't be here anyway. I could be convinced of Aaron Anderson.

Don’t disagree but most big time QBs with 1-2 years of eligibility left are going to want to go somewhere where there is an easy path to start.

Center/Guard
Safety
D Line

Imo those are the 3 most important in no particular order!
