I mean, the fun of it is watching a local kid like CEH do amazing things in big games and then get drafted in the first round. I am just simply not going to root for 11 transfers in gold helmets. Got other things to do…

I enjoyed the frick out of watching JD play for LSU. Just saying.

Or “hey Mr underwood we have this 6th year Sr coming in and there will be an opportunity to play right away”. LSU fans are so behind the times. this isn’t unique to LSU and has proven to be a winning model across CFB. LSU has been a huge beneficiary of this method. But you are worried about hurting feelings lmao

You literally just suggested above that it was ok if LSU leaned on the portal for QBs instead of just recruiting and developing their own. I don’t care if the staff decides Nuss doesn’t have what it takes and decides to portal another QB to be the starter… I’ll trust their assessments, but I think it potentially sets a bad precedent and risks getting a stigma that going to LSU as a freshman recruit would be an unwise career move.

This attitude is why I am not mad at Walker Howard, if the coach wants to do what is best for him I don’t have an issue with players. Brian Kelly said Nuss had the most upside of all the QBs we had when he got here and fully expect him to be the starter next year. We have talented freshmen coming and already on roster qb isn’t a need

We could always use another tight end. Heck, as big as he is, he could provide depth at defensive tackle.

They can do both. They won’t stop recruiting HS QBs. But the QB position is year to year now, and should be. You would think you would stop fighting it after Burrow & Daniels.

Showing your actual colors. If Nuss after being here, proving himself on the field, and earning his spot isn't good enough to not promise a random transfer the job then sorry but true freshman Underwood isn't either. No, constantly taking transfer after transfer isn't a winning model it's literally why we constantly are in need on defense.

You want the QB position to be determined by feelings. Sorry, I don’t. If Nuss is the best option, he’s the best option. Transfers aren’t “random”, especially at QB. They will make a move if an upgrade is available. You might as well accept it

I wouldn’t be surprised if MS State is an option for him. He’s from Mississippi. Lebby is an offensive coach, the QB cupboard is bare, and if he plays better there than Arkansas, then it really boosts his draft stock bc he can say the Arkansas systems did not use him correctly.

He’s never been consistent, especially as a passer. Both from game to game and within games. He makes a lot of game-altering mistakes that Daniels does not, especially this season.

He doesn’t suck, but I wouldn’t dream of handing him starting QB. No way.

I’m betting either Auburn or Miss St, both will need QB’s next season
or maybe Florida State if he’s tired of the SEC

If we have the opportunity to land a KJ Jefferson or say Noah Fifita from Arizona you take those guys 10 times outta 10.

Guy from Arizona is a freshman. Very different situation than KJ Jefferson.

Jefferson is a 5th year senior with one year left and Fifita is a redshirt freshman. Completely different situations.

Also Fifita is like 5-9 and not even in the portal. I don’t think he leaves unless Fisch leaves.

I get you're a troll, but pretending you want it to be earned through competition is laughable. You said yourself no "upgrade" is coming here without being promised the starting position. So you openly are against competition and want someone to be handed the job just a portal QB.

My point is that people can improve.

It took an entire year in a system for Daniels, Burrow, Nix, Penix, etc to get to that next level. KJ Jefferson has one year of eligibility left. If you sign a guy like that, you're signing him becuase you know he's ready to rock and roll in your system from day 1. You don;t have time to develop him. He should already be there as a 6th year player. Do you think he is? I don't.

one of the main connections we have as fans [to college football] is that high school kids choose to represent a school and team we care about ie we think they care too..... I am just simply not going to root for 11 transfers in gold helmets.
I feel the same.

The beauty of college football is that most of the kids are local, and this applies to most schools around the country. With local players, fans have more connection to the players, and the players had more connection to the state and to the university.

With constant transfers, it's becoming more like pro sports.

And I have no interest in that.

He's not very good and we don't need him at LSU.
