Saban has been playing this game since at least 2003 it seems.

Hopefully Sopsher isn't the 2018 version.

The talent level in that small class was actually pretty high, as there were a bunch of major contributors on the 2007 national championship team signed in that class.

Yeah that class was stupid talented.

Perrilloux is at Texas if Saban stays at LSU.

Yep, and Colt McCoy is at LSU!

Never knew he was a Tiger.

First I heard of him was when his heroin arrest was announced on-air on WWL while his dad was doing a guest-segment on Sports Talk.

Hope he gets it together.

I thought one of his brothers died in a car accident with his dad over here on the Northshore. Thought he jumped out of the car and got ran over. That was a few years back. I don't think it was Steven but he had a brother play at SLU. Not sure if it was him or perhaps another brother.

That class was still a top 25 class by the end of it all...On top of that it would end up having many players included that ended up being major contribution players and ended up being among the more recognized players that are in the Les miles era when looking back. Trindon Holliday was electric and still one of my favorite players ever. Lafell was the top wideout for most of his LSU career. Darry Beckwith was a mutli year starter at middle linebacker and ended up with a big time stat line defensively. Francois and Black both started in their time... And every one of these guys ended up spending time on NFL rosters.

For a class to have 7+ prospects out of 13 total not only end up being relied upon starters for most of their careers but to have them all get to the next level beyond that is seriously hard to have pulled off. But it somehow ended up being done anyway...

If that 05 class were any different then you don't get that second title and certainly wouldn't have won 11 or more from 05 to 07.

Only 8 of those were committed when he left and I think Jimbo got Les to sign Trindon, don't think saban wanted him.

Saban left the cupboard full to overflowing even if the '05 class was small in #.

If sabin would have been picked up by anybody but bama after Miami ,LSU would have of had at least three more Natties Because the fan base would have been in Coach Miles corner in of makeing him swim up stream in his recruiting because they missed his highness sabin so much !

Untrue. Miles was stubborn and refused to get with the times offensively. Furthermore, the most valuable position in football is the QB and he neglected it his time here. That's why we didn't win more championships

I will say this, had Saban stayed in the NFL, LSU would have had one more title, but none more than that. The 2012 season, even if we did only finish the regular season with one loss, we weren't beating UGA in the conference championship game.

Those three were gone before the 2007 national championship. Kicked out of school or dismissed for team rule violations/academics. All the other players panned out and won a lot of games in their LSU career

Same thing he does to LSU till this day and our coaches still haven't picked up on it (at least from my view). Could be wrong.

I think I understand, and I think I even agree. However, your post is so fricking poorly written, I’m not really sure.

I'm pretty sure our coaches know about all the dirty tricks that happen in recruiting. Let's face it people lie. And some people are good at it. Not much you can do about that.

for 2005 was only 13 players because he had oversigned so much before.

This isn't true. The class was small because Saban left late and by the time Miles was hired, he only had about a month to complete it.
