Gunnell, the nation’s No. 3-ranked pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2019, will be back in Baton Rouge on June 16 for the team’s passing and linemen camp. Members of the St. Pius X (Texas) High School 7-on-7 squad will make their way from Houston. Four-star wide receiver Jalen Curry will be making the trip, too.

this sets up LSU with an added opportunity to get Gunnell on campus for an official visit before the 4-star quarterback gives a commitment. The Tigers remain in the 2019 All-American’s top group of schools along with Arizona, California and Oregon.

Arizona State is better.

I'm not going to get my hopes up on this kid yet, but it seems his top 5 is always changing with LSU being the one constant. That might be a good sign.

Usually it is a good sign. Could be a recruit just making sure by comparing a fav destination with other interesting choices?

Arizona women are fine. La women are fine. Difference is at one school you are always in the hunt for a NC.

Either he gives us something or not. We don't need to beg anyone to consider us, espically when you have this riser in Quad Brown wanting to be here.

Your laughing but I heard coaches are getting frustrated. They've given him promise after promise and he's hesistant on telling him where we stand with him. There's only so much you can show a kid.

Sumlin doesn't have the greatest record with QBs for sure.

I've heard that exact same thing. Was told if he doesn't show them something more positive soon, they will move in another direction as their lead guy.

Interesting stuff from the Buckeye site. They feel they are slipping and it's becoming more of a LSU vs Arizona race.

quote:

I have flipped my prediction on 4-star 2019 quarterback Grant Gunnell on the 247Sports Crystal Ball from Ohio State to “foggy.” I previously submitted a prediction in the Buckeyes’ favor at the end of April following a huge visit to campus by Gunnell, but my confidence has waned significantly.

quote:

Make no mistake: Arizona is a major contender for Gunnell, and his relationship with Wildcats coach Kevin Sumlin is second to none. It dates back to Sumlin’s time at Texas A&M, when Gunnell committed to the Aggies, and has made Arizona a serious threat for the standout quarterback.

However, LSU and Ohio State are still very much in the picture. Gunnell will visit LSU on June 16, per SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman. This could be an official visit and will be his first visit to the school since January, when he checked out a Tigers’ junior day.

quote:

LSU has the bonus of proximity, early pursuit and an advantageous depth chart. I’ve also heard rumblings that it’s the preferred destination of multiple people close to the standout quarterback.

quote:

Gunnell will participate in the Elite 11 Finals during the first weekend of June and his multi-day visit to LSU will encompass the third.

He seems to be figuring stuff out still, we're still 7+ months to signing day and 3+ months away from the start of the season...he has plenty of time to figure things out, not sure why if he's so undecided we would "give up" and move in another direction so early on.
