Nothing crazy fancy. Maybe something middle of the road?

What kind of features?

For something basic like just a sun deck with about 3 foot of concrete around the pool I think it’s around 45k to 50k.

50-55k is accurate. Slightly lower if you go with the prebuilt fiberglass over gunite.

That’s kinda what I figured… the fiber glass around 40k and it goes up from there depending on how fancy you wanted to get

Is it correct to say outside of the shape of the pool, fiberglass is superior To gunnite?

We chose fiberglass after a few weeks of research. The long term cost is way better for fiberglass than gunite or liner pools. Less maintenance as well.

You can’t get the custom pool shape with fiberglass but there are a ton of shape options in different sizes.

Currently about 3/4 of the way into a pool build. Original quote was 58k but we upgraded a couple things and it’s going to come out to 62. We got 4 quotes and lowest was 55 and highest was 65. Gunite pool and spa, nothing crazy fancy. I don’t see how you could get a pool and spa for less than 55-60 grand and the price can soar very quickly depending on some finishing options. If we wanted to tile the entire deck with travertine, it would be another $21 a foot with labor so around $9500 more so we’re just gonna stain it or stamp
it. Pretty excited though and my contractor has been very impressive. Total build will be about 8 weeks and that’s with rain almost everyday since they started.

60k for a good Contractor
45k for a shitty one

Depending on size and features

Our pool was finished in March. We went gunite with colored quartz plaster. Our add ons were a tanning ledge, two ton waterfall and a 22’x22’ slab. The pool design already called for a 3’ slab on three sides and a 6’ slab on the front. We ended up paying right at $65K. If I remember right our pool is around a 19,000 gallon pool so nothing fancy.

Ive been looking into pools lately. Be advised that there is about a one year backlog on fiberglass pools due to resin shortages. This is according to two of the companies I consulted.

14x32 liner pool starts around 30k with basic pump and 4 ft concrete apron. If you want anything else, its extra. 2k for salt system, 1k per led light, 1k for robotic cleaner.

No gunite. Add 15k to that 50 and for around 65k you can get a hot tub and a couple of deck jets with extra concrete decking.

Now the decking is concrete because natural stone is expensive and I think cool decking is around $4 per foot.

We had ours put in last spring right before covid drove up demand. We went with premier pools. I think after the options we added, we were at $57k. Freeform, saltwater, upgraded to the aqualink system, upgraded coping travertine, sundeck, hot tub, and tanning ledge. We got a quote for a fiberglass pool as well and it was $3k more than our gunite quote.
