What’s the dependable, middle of the road, cost efficient brand these days? Preferably stainless steel, and would like them all to match. Will be a gas cooktop, dishwasher, fridge, built in microwave (thinking of just doing a counter microwave and making a cutout), and a single wall oven. Don’t need a fridge I knock on to see inside or other gimmicks like that.

Hard to argue with the recommendation of Thermador appliances. Bosch and Thermador are owned by the same company. The Bosch Benchmark line competes with Thermador. The Bosch 800 series offers pretty good value at a lower price point than the Benchmark series.

We are finished with year 1 of our appliances. KitchenAid 5 burner gas stove and oven with air fryer function. Whirpool refrigerator with water and ice dispense and side by side doors***. Our microwave is LG and I have no complaints after a year. Dishwasher is last thing we need to upgrade because it is a shitty Samsung that came with the house and doesn't work super well. Will likely go with Whirpool.

Avoid Samsung appliances that aren't a TV or phone. They all break conveniently after warranty expiration.

LG can be hit or miss. I would never get an LG appliance that deals with water except for our tower washer/dryer system that has worked well for almost a year thus far.

Will likely go with Whirpool. How much are you expecting/willing to pay on that Whirlpool?

Right. From what I understand they made good refrigerators in the past but the newer ones are trash.

Biggest complaints are the ice machines. Do a quick search on Google and you will see. Add tigerdroppings to the search and you will get the idea

If in BTR, go to Stanton’s , ask for Kathy, she handles all my accounts. She knows more than just about anyone.
Stay clear of Samsung and LG, I know for sure Stanton’s doesn’t sell LG.
Stanton’s handles the delivery, sales and service.

My apologies I know I previous listed it was a french door refrigerator but it was actually a side by side fridge. We spent around $1,500 - $1,700 for it. Works wonderfully. I can pour water and ice while the refrigerator side door is open.

It also has an option to fill water to the exact cup by 1/4ths.

$1,499 at Lowe's now

LG makes better refrigerators than Samsung but that's like putting an average student up against a special ed kid.

Samsung makes very unreliable parts. The coils are notorious for freezing up. The icemaker will break and freeze up as well. We had a Samsung fridge that was around 3 years old that came with our house (friend sold me the house and left all the appliances with it) and the first thing to go was the icemaker. It was about $110 to replace with an OEM part we found on Ebay and worked right away.

The coils were another problem. It would freeze up and cause perpetual melting of ice in the refrigerator, leading me to have slightly cold refrigeration with a pool of water at the bottom every week.

Samsung should stick to making phones and TVs. We still have the dishwasher that came with the house as well (around 5 years old) and it sucked from day 1. Will only upgrade that when it actually kicks the bucket.

LG should do the same but I bought their tower washer/dryer and it is working well so far.

My wife would kill me if she lost her ice machine. I've pivoted to a Whirlpool.

I replaced my side by side in 06 with a Whirlpool and the only thing I've had to do is I replaced the icemaker about 1 year ago when the original one quit on me.

The water filter needs replacing about every 6 months, so 2 a year.

Keep in mind they're all essentially built to the 3-5 years lifetime expectancy standards requested by multiple presidents beginning at least as far back as GW Bush.

I’m in the market for a new single wall oven. Either going with Whirlpool or KitchenAid. Stopped in Stanton’s on Perkins during the week mid morning and couldn’t find a single person to help me. I’ll take my business elsewhere
