Instant Electric water heater.

Anyone have experience with one? I have a small tank heater now, but my teenage daughter takes 30 minutes to take a shower!!! This is for a camp so it wouldn’t get a ton of use.
Forgot to say. Getting a gas line there would be a challenge. This is only for one bathroom.

Every plumber told me to stay away from electric instant when i built about 10 years ago. Not sure it has changed

I should clarify i am referring to whole home. I think you can get away with point of use electric for kitchen sink, master bath, etc

Only if you have natural gas or propane. The electrical ones are actually less efficient than a regular electric water heater.

I've had a Navien tankless water heater for a little over 2 years, and it has been great. But my house runs on propane so a bit different than your situation.

If it’s a camp, get a propane heater (mine is eco-temp) and hook it up to a 10gal bottle

Meter with a timer that shuts off after ten minutes Baw. Mount that led timer to shower head. Never took me over 5 min to rub one out in the shower but YMMV.

The point of use electric ones are okay, but one for the whole house/camp whatever, require a ton of power. Minimum I believe is (3) 40 amp breakers and most are 4. It's like running 3 or 4 ovens every time you turn on the hot water and most people have to upgrade the electric panel to accommodate.

Even for one bathroom, an electric tankless water heater will pull as much power in use as two major 240V appliances. I installed one for a rental property, basically an above-garage apartment, and it needed two 10AWG runs back to the panel, each for a separate 40-amp two-pole breaker. This was just to get a unit with a enough delta-T to take a decently hot shower in the winter.

The mineral content of your water could be an issue with an electric continuous water heater. If you want it for the whole camp, consider what others have suggested: get a propane water heater and use a tank you can haul with you to supply propane.
A point of use may also be an option for just that shower/bathroom if you are set on going electrical. You may also want to make sure you have the electrical capacity if you go that route.

I had electric at my BSL, MS. place 10 yrs before Katrina. The lights shuttered a little when I turned on hot water. The faster the flow the lower temp. Just trickle and you could brew tea.
I now have a gas (jetted for propane) I run it from 5gal cylinder. Two tanks last all year. The technology has come a long way. Long hot showers, dish washing no laundry.
