Just finished helping the in-laws hang Christmas lights at the house.
How much do you usually spend on lights for your house? Or do you opt out and pay someone to hang them?

Or is it too tacky to hang Christmas lights

I wait for the 90-95% off sale after Christmas. I usually spend about $200 each year. Retail price, I probably have nearly $5000 in Christmas decorations, outdoor only.

Indoors, I am a huge Christopher Radko collector. Dillard's Trimsetter and Waterford are alright, but Radko ornaments are the pinnacle of European glass Christmas ornaments. I have at least $25,000 in retail value on my family tree in Radko ornaments alone. Most of these were also gotten at 90-95% off. If you want to know what to get me for Christmas, Radko ornaments!

Asleep in the Manger is my top want for this year.

Here are some other winners from the 2019 Collection:

For those of you interested, I am starting a professional Christmas decorating league.

Unfortunately my wife insists on a no theme, throw 500 random ornaments that were mostly made by our 2 year olds strategy for the tree. I would live a more themed, ornate tree.

As far as lights, we have a $500 Garland set for the entry way, and just some misc likes around the landscaping, nothing special.

You sound like my wife.

She's been collecting Radko since before I met her back in '94.

I don't recommend putting your blow up doll in your front yard as a Christmas decoration.

I have about 60 strands of the warm white 5mm conical wide angle LED commercial lights. They run ~$15/strand, but they last forever.

We have candles in the windows that were hand me downs.

Thinking about wrapping a few of the trees in lights.
