Our house now only has a Carport. It is a very nice, very large brick on 3 sides with attached shop car port but my next house will have at least a 2 car garage with extra storage.

I have a 2 car garage now and I hate the fact that I don't have at least a 3 (would love a 4). Zero chance I would ever consider a house with less than 2...and even if it had 2, that house would have to be awesome everywhere else.

So for me, a garage is VERY important.

I wouldn't buy a house without one.

Wouldn't buy house without at least a 2-car garage. My current home has a 2-car garage on the main level and a 1-car garage on the walkout basement level. It's spoiling me.

Count me in the three-car garage camp. Can’t imagine not having enclosed storage space for cars, boat, tools, equipment.

My house has 2 separate 2 car garages.

My next will have at least as many.

The answer to how many garages a house needs is always "More"

I've not parked under a cover as long as I've been driving at 16, so right at 16 years. The next time I move I will 100% have covered parking, don't care if its a carport, garage, or california garage.

I didn’t want a garage when we built. I wanted a carport that would open to my outdoor space for overflow for get togethers. But I also built a 36x24 shop to keep all tool and mowers and such.

This is the way to do it unless you live in an urban area.

I bought a house without a garage. Figured it would be fine because it has walk out basement for tools/yard equipment. Nope. Sucks. Currently getting bids for a garage. Will never make that mistake again.

If you live in NOLA it’s not big deal. Most houses don’t have garages.

Depends on the house. Just please do not make it front facing.
