I have tried the blue Dawn/vinegar mixtures and rejuvenate spray with no luck.

I bought a 5 year old mobile home for a rental property and I’m almost positive the shower doors were never cleaned.

Anyone have a tried and true method to remove soap scum?

Wet and forget. Spray it on and leave it until the next day then rinse next day. May take two or three applications but it works wonders. Kaboom in the purple can works well too.

At some point it can no longer be cleaned. Glass is more porous than you think. If most cleaners have not worked, it is very likely the glass is beyond repair.

That said, try some magic erasers. We use those a lot in my glass shop to clean the more stubborn stains in glass. 3000-4000 grit sandpaper also works wonders.

It might be etched as BB said

If it is cleanable, I am a big fan of Barkeepers Friend and either Magic Erasers or those rotating scrubbers you can put on your drill

I’ve used a headlight restoration kit you can buy at autozone, etc. on a shower door. worked very well but was a good bit of work.

Take it down, bring it outside, lay it in some grass and pressure wash it.

I was able to get a good bit of it off by scraping it with a razor blade.

Then Bio Clean from amazon.

Lastly, keep a squeegee (lol I had to look up how to spell that) in the shower.

Simple Green "Lime Scale remover" (not "Simple Green") is a special product.

I bought a house that was 10 years old and it looked like the glass shower door had never been cleaned since it’s was new. You could not see clearly through the glass. I used some stuff called GlasWeld and got it mostly clear. It was a little on the expensive side but it’s the only thing I could find that got it off. Tried all the internet ideas I could find and nothing worked. It still shows some etching but for the most part it’s good. Way better than when we moved in for sure.

Yes it would be.

Another option is to buff with toothpaste. You can restore clarity, remove minor scratches, etc...

Zep Shower, Tub and Tile cleaner. Spray on, wait a few minutes, and wash off. It might take a few applications.

Available at Lowe's.

I tried Bar Keeper's Friend and liquid Comet along with a scotch brite pad over the weekend with fairly decent results.

I also ordered the Simple Green Lime Scale Remover as suggested but have not had a chance to use it yet.

The liquid cooktop cleanser from Barkeeper's Friend. (Not the powdered BKF cleanser in the shaker can.)
