Best remedy for armadillos tearing up new sod?

Hey all,
Looking for any proven remedies for getting rid of armadillos tearing up my new sod? One has been coming in around 4 am digging for worms. Should I just get up around that time and shoot him? I tried the castor oil spray from Lowes...that didn't work. Should I try trapping with worms as bait?

Alarm clock. Shotgun.

Trap them. No need for bait, put traps on the route they take for water. Fence lines, house lines, paths to ditches. Guaranteed success.
Kill ‘em dead if you shoot em, they bleed like crazy and if they writhe around dying, you’ll get covered in blood. Ask me how I know.

Yea apparently they carry leprosy so gotta be careful around them! I picked up a dead one a few months ago before I read about that. Guess I'll need to set an alarm clock!

I’ve always heard throw out some netting. They get tangled up and can’t get out. Always wanted to try but never had a chance.

I use GrubX - it kills the grubs that the dillos want to eat.

They are pretty much blind and follow lines of structures. Put it along a fence line or wall and they will stumble into it.
.22 lr to the dome works well.

They have a fantastic sense of smell. Up to 8 inches underground. They’ll go for not only grubs but worms too. You’ll have to decide no armadillos or no beneficial insects. If no armadillos then use arena insecticide

I bought a trap on eBay and have trapped and killed 6 the first year I was in this house. And I haven't seen any for a year now

Castor oil mixed 50:50 with water sprayed over lawn with a bug sprayer is supposed to deter them and not damage grass? I just center punch em with a deuce deuce loaded with CB caps. A gut shot dillo will not die in your yard, it’ll die in your neighbor’s yard. Let him deal with the dead body!

Find the path they take & set up trap
Put stuff around to lead it in trap, I set mine up between shed & fence, on side of trap I blocked it off with bricks
We never baited it

You have to get rid of the grubs. I had this problem when we built in the woods. 15 armadillos in the first two weeks.

The armadillo “carry leprosy “ is overblown,it’s possible but actually rare.I’ve carried many a one off by tail to dispose of them.Wash my hands afterwards.
I’d like to know where they all come from. They’re supposedly not that prolific(4 babies /year).Been in this house in the country 22 years and have killed over 200 in or around my yard.
They’re all over my property, see diggings all over, get pictures on my game camera.

Killed one last night with my 6.5 grendel. My camera alarm went off right outside my back door. I opened the door and the thing didn't even try to run...just kept it's nose in the ground. We'll see if more keep coming or if this one was the only one.
