Best brand of refrigerator

Looking to upgrade my 15 year old refrigerator. Circuit board has been replaced once, and the ice maker gives me problems from time to time.

Who makes the most reliable frig? I know not to even consider Samsung.

People will curse LG, but I've got one 15 years old that's never had a problem.
Had a 15 year old GE Profile at my old house that I had to replace 2 separate circuit boards. One failed right after a thunderstorm, though.

Yeah, I've heard bad things about LG.

I just went through this a year ago when I replaced all of my appliances. I went with the Frigidaire gallery series and we are very happy. I also stayed away from the 'TV' company brands.

My 1989 Amana is in my wood shop. Still runs. Never had a repair. I blow off the coils every couple of years when I think about it.

Wish they still made them like that. I don’t think you will find one as reliable today. Just keep it as simple as possible though. Fancy features = lower reliability.

We’re in the market for one too. Have a Maytag that’s been great for 15 years so I’m probably getting another Maytag.

It really depends on what you want to spend. Amana is definitely a good value for what you get. I have always had a Maytag/Whirlpool/Amana and all are under one company umbrella. Currently, with an Amana and can't say a bad thing about it.

US built whirlpool.
Get your appliance man to recommend one.
Research the model you are interested in.

You are off to a good start. High priced garbage.

Looked at Kitchenaid. Appears to be in the same boat as Samsung, according to the nightmare reviews.

Bosch seems solid based on recent research/purchase. Time will tell.

Whatever brand you buy get the extended warranty. My excellent appliance repair man told me that years ago. The extended warranty saved me. I had my new frig replaced under warranty. Beware cheaply made parts from……..China.

I don't know if it's still the case but repair guy told us about 4 years ago that his favorite is Subzero.

He said that if something goes wrong they are the easiest to work on and get parts.

He was working on our Electrolux which I will tell you, he said was one of the worst.
