What’s the best way to get rid of this monster? My yard looks like the moon from all the craters.

traps, sometimes mothballs cal discourage them but just put cat food in a trap and they go drop them somewhere near the woods

fox urine and cayenne pepper. Just don't get that fox urine on your hands...ever.

I had this same issue. They are almost impossible to trap.

What worked for me was to eliminate the food source. Bought some grub killer for the yard. No more problems after that.

had 1 digging up my yard for a few months...was acceptable but unwanted.

He then started trying to get in my fence.

Setup a security camera in area he frequented, 12ga #4shot dispatched easily. bastards are blind.

I think God put some situations in our lives for our amusement.

Plinking armadillos with a 22 is one of those times.

I have armadillos in my yard and could never get them in my traps. I was telling an old boy at work and he said find where they go for water and set your traps in their route. They will follow a fence line or natural barrier. If you just put it along that barrier they will walk right in, no bait, nothing.

I called bs on no bait but low and behold I’m an armadillo catching machine now.

I’ve never used bait
Found the path they were taking, it was easy to narrow it down with cinderblocks directly into trap

Grandma would go out into the garden when the hounds started barking. She'd swing the corner of a hoe into their armor and that penetration would kill them varmints.

Red pepper. Spread it out wherever they dig. They don’t come back.

I came up with a nifty way to solve this problem a few years ago. I took the motion detector off of a motion light and placed it in my yard. wired one end to plug into a receptacle and the other end to a radio, and placed the radio in room. Whenever the radio went off I got up, popped it with a 22 and then went back to bed. Best way i found.

I used cayenne pepper as suggested by the OB a few years ago. Did the trick.

My old man would beat the shite outta them with a baseball bat. I'm convinced it was therapy.

I've had them in my yard for years. They only dig shallow holes (less than golf ball size). It looks like aeration and good for the grass. But I live in the forest not the suburbs.
