Why don't you get a haircut and get a real job?

I did it to pay for 6 months of car insurance but it sucks.
The first time donation is the best and 3 or 4 years ago I was offered 800 for 8 donations. You can only go twice a week and they do screen you.
They don't do a drug test or anything but they will check for needle marks and tattoos. They also ask your medical history each visit and check that you have high enough protein levels before you donate.
Last time I did it it took 4 hours but that's because the facility is understaffed and you spend a lot of time waiting. The actual donation takes 90 minutes and I always felt like a cheap hooker after. They have Wi-Fi and music playing but its boring as hell and you cant move once they start.

Did the price of mulch go up or something?

Man I did this a few times back in the day. The key was to drink a shite ton of water the day before.
You would get a bigger payment on the second visit. I think combined you could make like $125 in a week. I think the place we went to was on Nicholson towards the bridge.
I had the prostitute vibes as well, but at least you were helping children with leukemia get treated with your plasma.
I remember doing it on Halloween so I could get some drinking money. Giving plasma and then going out drinking was a terrible idea. I was gone after like 3-4 drinks.

I sold plasma when I was in college (‘73-‘74) to pay for a used boat-Tidecraft 14 ft fiberglass, stick steering with 20 hp Mercury.Caught a hell of a lot of fish out of that little boat.
Easy money, stop in twice a week after class 1 1/2 hr each time, study during the process.
Got Hepatitis A from eating oysters from contaminated water so I had to quit,I hated it because I wanted to buy some more rods and reels.

When I was at LSU, selling plasma a couple times a month was great. There was a place just south of the bridge on Nicholson. Afterwards, with my $20 or so in hand, we'd invade the Ponchos' mexican restaurant a few blocks down towards campus for the 4 tacos for $1.
Odd nostalgic moment for me. But to answer your question, you will not make enough money to be worth the hassle. Note also you aren't "donating" your plasma...
For the time spent, I'm certain you won't make minimum wage. You'll get enough for some cheap meals, and probably not contract some bloodborne pathogen.

If you are AB positive like me they will love your plasma because it's universal.

So how does plasma help treat leukemia?
Wouldn't surprise me if an MD put in that order, but they wouldn't get the plasma for their patient, just curious where that comes from.

The blood bank in South Carolina refused to take my whole blood once they typed me as AB+, but I also didn't get paid for the plasma I did give. I should have hit on the phlebotomists a hell of a lot more.

Me and a buddy thought it would be easy money. The next day we went to the place south of the bridge and got in line. It didn’t take long to figure out that it wasn’t for us. Man, we were in line with the dregs of society!

Most blood and plasma donations are used to help patients with blood cancers, such as leukemia and lymphoma. Some replace blood lost during surgery.
