What’s tougher, waking up early 3 days a week or 5?

I’m easing back into lifting and am doing 3 days/week currently. I loathe waking up early but really want to try to make it a habit.
I thought about just waking up early for the 3 days I lift, but I’m concerned with the other 2 week days being allowed to “sleep in”, it would make it harder to get used to waking up early on the lifting days, if that makes sense.
I know there’s been a million threads on this, and some people say you shouldn’t fight your body’s natural rhythm, that some people are just morning people and some aren’t.
However, my body’s natural rhythm is to be a lazy fatass and I’m fighting that aspect, so may as well knock this one out as well

If you are trying to create a new lifestyle, don't swim up-river. In my experience, if you want to create a behavior, it starts with mindset. How bad do you want it?
No matter how bad, though, over time you need to lift your big barriers to sustain the bahavior. If you hate waking early, is there no way possible to work out in the evening or at lunch?
Create small wins and celebrate them.
And when that voice inside you, inevitably, tries to talk you out of it. Listen. But get right back to it. Make a list of all of the value from exercise (cardiovascular, mood, sleep, bone density, etc.) and remind yourself that you are making an investment in yourself.
Mindset!
Good luck

I'm not a morning person. Never have been. Even when I do wake up really early no way I could go lift worth a shite.

I prefer evening workouts but in days that’s not possible I like a lunch workout. I feel energetic in the afternoon instead of lethargic

The older I get the more I like waking up early. Give it a shot for a couple of weeks and see if it grows in you. Just get to bed early enough so you still get sleep.

I don’t personally like waking up and lifting right away(but I’ll do it in a pinch), but I actually don’t mind waking up and doing fasted cardio first thing.

Waking up early is the cheat code. Even if not lifting that day.
I’d say it’s much easier if you’re doing it everyday.

I've been getting up early just to hit cardio in the mornings and have been trying to get most of my lifting in on the weekends
It's been an interesting transition. Being dead as asleep by 8:20 PM isn't something I predicted ever happening in my life

My wife and I get up at 4:45am daily to hit the gym. We just had the same conversation the other day when one of the younger instructors at our gym slept through his alarm and didn't show up to class. This happens somewhat regularly with the instructors/openers who only have the early stuff on their schedule one or two days a week. The people who do it daily are regular and pretty much never no-show. In short, I think it's harder if you do it less frequently.
That being said: I do enjoy occasionally having a "cheat" day where we sleep in an extra 30 minutes or so, if we can fit it into our schedule.

Yeah. I left at 3:45 yesterday morning for the gym. That's a bit early for me. Left at about 4:15 today
Honestly that's just enough time for me to get about 20-25 minutes of cardio in and shower then head to work
Thankfully in a few months my work schedule won't be quite as aggressive. I'm having to get the bulk of my work in on the weekends right now

I absolutely loathe waking up early. As it is, I'm difficult to have a conversation with any time before about 8:30am. So waking up early to lift is just not in the cards for me. My solution to that is if I wake up early, I go to work early, then I take a long lunch to go to the gym. So if I get to work 30 minutes early, I can take a 90 minute lunch break, and still get my full days worth of hours. I love working out on my lunch break. I don't have to wake up at an unreasonable hour, or get home late, and still get my workout in.

Been waking up at 4am on weekdays to workout for years, usually sleep until 6 or so on the weekends. Think it is easier to be consistent if you wake up early 5 days in a row to develop a routine.

This. I used to hate getting up that early except to go hunting for the most part but that was before #1 kid 24 years ago. I used to train in the evenings prior but that just wasn't cutting it with my bride so the only time slot to train was at 0400 so that's what I started doing and it has stuck. The only issue is with getting older, I have to get up to go pizz and that is usually around midnight and sometimes at 0300 which really sucks.
