Another vote for the Barnes 110gr
I have one that I carry at the camp. Beat the shite out of it and it still cycles any ammo I've put through it. Really fun with a suppressor and some CCI standard velocity that stays just under 1100 fps.
Weller SR back available for online buy/pickup through Total Wine app at Mandeville location.
I have been running them for a few years, they work great. Currently have 4 DC-2's with solar panels.

Worked through a firmware update issue recently on a few. I agree their customer service is top notch and very responsive. Actually received an email response on a Sunday afternoon.

Good to see a local company putting out a solid product and standing behind it.

Just stumbled upon it, I check for Weller, ER and Blantons in the app every once in a while.

Gotcha, appreciate the heads up. I'll start doing the same.
Good looking out, I picked one up yesterday. Did TW send you a notice or email that this was available or did you just stumble upon it?
Just made same switch about 5,000 miles ago. Seem to be a little quieter (could just be because they are new) and better traction on wet concrete. Haven't been in mud yet.

Recommend road force balancing, had issues with vibrations at high speeds (70+) with regular balancing. Turns out 3 out of 4 tires were out of spec and were replaced for free. Rides great now though.
I have the Milwaukee and it's a beast. Used it yesterday to limb oaks for a couple hours on the same battery.
I have the leather Ridge with a 'Grip' silicone band around the outside for extra cash. Works great. Like the leather Ridge better than the metal ones, lighter and thinner.
Agreed. Usually only grow cane from stubble for 3 or 4 years. After that have to re-plant and start over. Some farmers will rotate soybeans or even wheat between crops before re-planting in cane.

Meopta is awesome. Very good low light performance and real clear glass.
I've been fighting spotted spurge for years in my Bermuda. Celsius or MSM Turf doesn't touch it at all. Would be very interested if anyone has an OTC post em herbicide to try.

Best bet is to have a solid pre-em plan to knock it back over the next couple of years.

4Runner Mechanic?

Posted by JustKillinTime on 2/22/25 at 7:41 am
About to pick up a late 90's 4x4 4Runner to use as a camp/running around town vehicle.

I'd like to bring to a mechanic to have everything checked out and possibly fix whatever is necessary before putting it on the road. Any recommendations on a trustworthy mechanic near the Northshore area?
Ruger American is a great gun for kids. Bought an American Ranch in 300blk to get the short, threaded barrel. Called Ruger with the serial number and they mailed a youth stock to me for free. Very accurate gun for the money.

+1 for Walther P22. Fun gun to shoot, especially with a suppressor and CCI Target loads.
Thanks CrawDude. I'll put some of that down this weekend and see if it improves. It's definitely been hot and wet enough...

Bermuda - brown spots on leaves

Posted by JustKillinTime on 9/6/24 at 6:48 pm
Went out of town for a few days and my Bermuda (mostly Royal TXD) grew a little too long. Noticed some brown spots on the leaves in several areas, didn't notice any if this last week. Any ideas on what would cause this so quickly? A couple pictures below...

Follow up: Spot sprayed a bunch of spurge last Wednesday with Blindside. Seems to have worked really well, most of the spurge has already shriveled up and died.

Have mostly Bermuda with some centipede mixed in. Didn't affect the Bermuda at all but heavily discolored the centipede.

It wasn't cheap but it worked.
