I have been recovering for the past year from back surgery with an L5/S1 microdisechtomy and as a result of high cortisol levels from the herniated disc, my T took a little nose dive. I had been looking at options to boost my strength. I looked at TRT and thought it was kind of stupid - youre hooked on it for life, constant labs/ doctor visits, fricks up your caridovascular system, shortens your life, shrinks your balls, etc. So i was doing some online research and stumbled across the GOMAD diet - a Gallon Of Milk A Day. I thought it seemed interesting and figured I would try it out. I’ve been on this diet for about a year now while also doing fairly intensive crossfit and weight training. So far I’ve seen some pretty amazing results. My bench press max has gone from 305 to 345. My shoulder press has gone from 205 to 235. My clean and jerk has gone from 265 to 315. My snatch PR has gone from 205 to 245. I haven’t tried to do a max back squat or deadlift yet due to caution with my back but may try it in a few months once my PT okays it. But yea, long story short GOMAD has completely changed my life and aided my recovery. It’s made me stronger than I ever thought I would be. Crazy to think more people haven’t been trying this instead of TRT. I guess it’s the pharmaceutical industry pushing TRT on the general populace because they profit on it like everything else!

so in a year coming back from an injury you gained roughly 10-15% strength in your lifts and you claim gomad is the reason

no its because you finally ate in a surplus

nothing special about gomad

and it certainly isnt a replacement for TRT for medical reasons

not to mention...how much have you gained in BW? how are your lifts in terms of relative strength? Have you had your test levels tested before and after? what is your bodyfat percentage?

im hoping this was just a troll job of a post, if so well done....if not...jesus you are not very birght

Calories by Milk Type (Per Gallon)

Whole Milk (3.25% fat): ~2,400 calories (150 per cup)

Reduced-Fat Milk (2% fat): ~1,950 to 2,080 calories (122 to 130 per cup)

Low-Fat Milk (1% fat): ~1,760 calories (110 per cup)

Skim / Fat-Free Milk: ~1,330 calories (83 per cup)

I’m 6’5. I have gone from 215 post op to 230 or 233 depending on the day in bodyweight. I did that inbody scan at my doctor’s office and it showed me at 14% bodyfat. My test was 364 after surgery, not sure where it’s at now. Probably 600+ is my guess.

ok cool

you arent 14% bodyfat more than likely

but i want you to explain the exact mechanisms in which you feel gomad, specifically the role milk played on your endocrine system, to raise your testosterone...which you dont even know if it was raised

in terms of strength, it went up around the same % wise as your weight gain and you were coming off an injury.....do you think maybe, just possibly....maybe that had a small roll in the gains in strength?

You seem a little defensive and I apologize if I’ve offended you.

Yes, 14% is my true bodyfat percent. I have the inbody results sitting on my desk sitting in front of me.

My weight went up 7% and strength gains went up a higher percent depending on the lift. For a full body movement like clean and jerk, it went up 28% which is pretty impressive.

And yes of course you need to gain some weight to gain strength. I don’t think anyone here is debating that. Simply trying to point out that TRT is another pharmaceutical scheme and that eating and dieting right can still make you stronger. shite take clomiphene or something to boost T before getting on TRT. shite is so stupid. Once you get on that stuff, youre stuck on it.

im not defensive....you literally have zero clue about anything you are talking about, zero

and do you even know what trt is? its testosterone replacement therapy design for those who no longer produce testosterone naturally for a variety of reasons. you can come off TRT and do a full post cycle therapy just like you would a steroid cycle but if you went on TRT for legit reasons....i.e. you dont produce testosterone naturally....well there isnt much to recover. the fact you mentioned clomiphene shows how much of a moron you are on this.

another pharma scheme? mother fricker....yea big pharma got together and decided we should trick all these over weight middle aged men to get on testosterone, a drug that we make pennies on because its been generic for 40 years? do you realize how fricking stupid you sound?

then you come on here acting like the GOMAD diet is some new thing you just found and it made your testosterone go through the roof. no dumb frick it didnt. you dont even know if the levels did go up and if they did its not from drinking a gallon of milk a day. Then you say...gomad made my strength go through the roof....again no dumbass...being in a proper caloric surplus and getting the proper amount of protein while coming back from a surgery and being able to lift properly made your lifts go up

and just because the inbody says it, doesnt make it true. do you have multiple test? did you have anything to eat or drink before going? did you have the same foods the night before? etc etc and bunch of things can mess with the test

but certainly....continue the GOMAD diet, come see us when you fat frick yourself and need help getting unfat fricked

Appreciate the novel.
Funny how every time someone mentions getting stronger without a needle, the TRT crowd shows up hot.
I was not where I wanted to be with T post-surgery. Started the gallon a day, trained, and the numbers moved. Strength jumped more than the scale did. Coincidence, I'm sure. Milk's just empty calories with zero effect on anything hormonal, right?
You're right though, once you're on the real stuff you're basically married to it. PCT or not, most guys never fully bounce back if they were low for a reason. That's why I skipped the lifelong prescription and just drank the milk.
Worked out fine so far.
Keep doing what you're doing. I'll keep doing the gallon. We'll compare notes in a couple years.

I’m not on TRt so have no dog in the fight but it’s not a pharmaceutical scheme. A pharmaceutical scheme is what you are seeing with all the various GLP drugs flooding the market often targeting gullible people.

I think he’s getting on to you because of statements like this. You haven’t had your testosterone levels checked since then but you claim the numbers moved. You “guess” they are around 600 now, but you have no idea what they are. That’s my guess and it makes sense.

It’s a damn nice coincidence that milk is sold in a gallon and is EXACTLY the amount needed to outperform TRT!

im getting on to him because he is acting like GOMAD is some magic diet he just discovered and that TRT is a pharma scheme

not a single thing he said makes any since if you actually understand these things

but yea im sure trt is just something pharma cooked up to make about 2 cents per vial. What was I thinking?

same with gomad....im sure his gains in strength are strictly from gomad...not the fact he is coming back from surgery and eating in a surplus.......certainly there is something inherently special about gomad and certainly its a new diet he discovered, Im sure nobody has ever tried it before....wtf was I thinking?

I can see why some folks are annoyed by your post. You didnt need trt, which is evident because a calorie surplus took care of it. GOMAD is a decent protocol for getting decent calories but its not something you can do indefinitely. If you continue the training needed to offset those calories and not get fat, you will get injured eventually unless you are like 22.

Regardless its a good anecdote and good short term protocol for gaining weight and strength. Dozen eggs a day is another good one that is better for someone not doing such intense training.
