Ugh, I am scared af of 24" box jumps, not really ready for that. I could RX the snatches, given enough time.

Finished it in low 16:00s this morning. Might test that again to see if I can do shorter breaks on the 40 and 50 rounds of snatch. If you can hold on to the snatch for huge sets in the later rounds you’ll crush this one.

How many breaks?

Trying to gameplan: UB through the 30s and deciding if I want to do 20-20 and 25-25 or hold on as long as possible.

30 I did 20,10 very short rest
40 I did 20,10,10 hands on knees really starting to feel it
50 I did 15,10,10,15 Last round took me about 5 minutes including the burpees because of the breaks.

Never stopped on burpees though, just slow and steady.

The burpees are where it’s at for me, just need to stay moving on them.

It took me just over 17 minutes, which I'll partly blame on doing in the morning since I usually don't workout at that time. I was up for almost an hour in the middle of the night and I always wake up reallt stiff.

I didn't stop on the burpee box jumps, just kept a nice steady pace the entire time. And I didn't even think the dumbell was that heavy. I didn't get any quad or lower back tightness, just pure cardio. I spent to long looking at the dumbell on the 40 and 50 sets.

I knew I was going to be slow though when I couldnt do the 30 unbroken. I think I did like 24 and knew I was going to get pretty close to redlining if I finished the last 6.

I sketched out a gameplan.

Stay with 2 minutes (on average) on every set of 15 BBJOs and start with my first set of 10/15 at a slowish time of 2:20.

10/15: 2:20 (clock time)
20/15: 5:10
30/15: 8:45
40/15: 12:05
50/15: 16:10

I fully expect to be faster out of the gate on the 10/15 but I hope to settle in the rest of the way.

Transitions could add some time to the total.

Unless you can pretty much go unbroken on the dumbell (you might can, I know youre strong), I think that's too slow on the burpees. I was doing them in way less than that, but I also om the set of 50 did like 12,12,8,8,10 so you could make up time there.

If you are going to spend over 10 minutes on the box you're going to have to be fast on the dB.

I won’t break the DBs up until the 40s.

My time will be the burpees. Hate those with a passion.

I overcame my fear of 24" box jumps and Rx'd. Coach pushed me hard on the snatches, but I came away feeling proud of my score.

145 reps Rx. Finished the round of 40 snatches.

Set of 40 snatches was a bear, I can't imagine what going into the set of 50 would feel like.

Just finished watching the announcement video. Medeiros made 21.2 his bitch with 10:01. Wife and I are going to do the foundations tomorrow. Should be fun.

Yeah, he stayed on his torrid pace the entire time.

A few people are were in the 9:30s or less, Ohlsen went 9:33 and Chandler Smith went 9:32.

My upper back and hip flexors are beat up. Guess pulling and stabilizing the 50lb DB and a new box jump height got me.

I’ll be doing this tomorrow (I’ve been out of town since Friday).

Do y’all switch on the come down or on the ground for the DBs?

I’ve always switched on the ground. Not sure if I want to try and switch on this or not.

I switched in the air as long as I could then switched on the ground after the round of 30. You're going to lose significant time switching on the ground the whole time

Switching on the ground will light your back up hard because it's likely going to cause a lot of extra rotation. Better off switching up high. I would drop the db down to shoulder level and switch up there then go down for the next rep.

That's insane. I saw that even though he isn't competing Froening posted his video and time on YouTube. I didn't see where he finished but I'll watch it later.

Froning is competing. He’s qualifying for with his team again: Mayhem Freedom.

They were first after 21.1

Rich stops as he enters the final round so people could guess his time. He probably finished around 9:40 and his HR didn’t go over 140 bpm until the 40/15 set. Bastard! Mine will be 150+ entering the 30 snatches.

I’ve done it so much, I can easily switch as I’m dropping down to head/eye level without even looking. It’s all about being confident in feel and that you won’t drop it.
