I emailed them to let them know the mistake (even though I knew I could sell it for close to $300) and figured for my troubles they’d say send it back and offer up a 10% off discount code or something.

Rogue replies saying “here’s a shipping label, go to UPS and drop it off.” Great, so now your problem is my problem and there’s no incentives offered.

I reply “sure, and for the troubles why not ship out a cannonball grip system?” .... The grips run like $75, it’s a 3 ships free item anyway, and I knew they probably wouldn’t do that but figured they’d counter with SOMETHING. (again, maybe a discount code)

Rogue wrote back, “sorry we can’t do that” and again, didn’t add an incentive. So I’m left here with a somewhat heavy piece of equipment that I’ve got to drive over to UPS to do this favor for Rogue.

What would you do?

XM-43M:

frick them. I would just wait them out maybe 30 days and if no further contact is initiated sell it.

Or put a bunch of bricks in the box and mail that back to them.

I definitely thought about this.

I’d reply and tell them they can arrange to have the carrier of choice pick it up from your front door, that you aren’t going out in public for whatever reason you choose.

I would send them that then ask if they are willing to reconsider the grip deal you offered

I would sell it and buy some other gym equipment. They'll get the money one way or another.

Rogue has been very very good to me so I would send it back. If you don't, they are going to be less likely to work with you on any warranty items in the future.

If it was a Monster Lite, I’d say you could sell it to me. Since it’s not, sell that thing on FB.

This would be the most fair thing for all involved IMO

I'm really surprised they didnt offer you a discount code of some sort though for being honest with them

I don't like that very much. I understand it was just a mistake and that's why i told them. But don't make it my problem.

Just telling you.

I understand it's not your problem and you can arrange a pick up by UPS or tell them to.

I get it's their mistake, but rogue is a good company who employees Americans and fabricates as much as possible in America. The Christian and moral thing to do is to return it. I can't imagine it's much of a hassle.

The Christian and Moral thing for Rogue to do is compensate the guy for being honest.

You don’t have to be compensated for being honest.

I would say tell rogue to send someone to come pick it up. If they don’t pick it up within a week. Then sell it.

This is true however I'm surprised they put the burden on me to go drop it off.

Is it a big deal? Not really .... but is it still asking me to do them a favor? Yeah ... and if you want me to do a favor for you, then something small for my troubles seems reasonable to me.

When they are doing work out of their way to help you, yes you should.

Legally, it's his.

Just put on FB marketplace. It'll be ok. They won't screw you on warranty work. They'll forget this ever happened.

Geez dude..... really? doing the right thing is this hard?

It's kinda sad that people have to "get something" for doing a "favor" or "for doing the right thing".

It was a simple error.... do the right thing or not, you don't need anyone on this board to justify your actions or do you?

I agree that they should have offered something to keep a customer happy. I think it’s strange they didn’t.

If they send someone to your door to pick it up then that’s literally the smallest amount of trouble possible. If they don’t then sell it.

In the end, it’s not the end of the world for either party.

I guess you're paying for all those lifting books on a certain user's google account eh Mr. High Horse?

I was looking to get opinions, not a lecture.
