Anxiety is often handled poorly. Anytime anyone ever says, “I have anxiety,” the very next question for them should be, “about what?”

If one just says I’m anxious and have anxiety but doesnt pinpoint what to work on then they will just seek a coping mechanism instead of working on the issue causing the anxiety. This is very common and don't feel bad about it. One cannot possibly work on something that they haven’t specifically identified.

So you're just gonna take a massive fricking bong rip on Day 91? I got news for you, buddy. When that day rolls around the first words out of her mouth are going to be "You didn't need weed for the last 3 months. You don't need it moving forward."

Depends on how I feel or if I can address the anxiety. Also, depends on if I feel the same way about the girl. Marijuana also makes it easier to take female bullshite.

Don't get married. If she is making demands now, wait until that ring is on her finger.

To be fair to her, she asked me to do it. She didn’t threaten to break up with me. I get your point though.

You're a productive member of society after smoking daily for 20 years. Why is she asking you to stop? Is it the smoking? If so, just switch to gummies or something.

Massive relationship red flag.

She's probably one of those girls who is super religious on Sunday's when everyone's around her at church, but Monday through Saturday she does whatever she wants.

Honestly, I didn’t even ask her why beyond just having conversations previously about if I was going to smoke after we had kids. So I assumed it was about being a bad influence or something.

I never really intended to keep smoking. I picked it up in college after getting kicked out for not going to class. My panic attacks and anxiety were bad then and I was having nightmares. I wasn’t aware of my abuse at the time and I thought it was because I was at Samford and everyone was telling me I was going to hell for being Catholic. Samford has some weird policy about getting kicked out and being on probation where you have to sit out of any college for an entire semester. When I was home, one of my best friends smoked and asked me to write a paper for him and he would smoke me out. But we got the order wrong, and I wrote the paper high. It was the first time in my life I could just sit down and write a paper. I went from failing to graduating with honors. I had been on adderall for about 10 years at that point and was up to 3 20mg per day.

So, weed was like a miracle drug for me and did what I had hoped adderall would do. After I graduated I stopped and then picked it back up when I started my first business. It allowed me to work longer hours and be less stressed and more creative. And that’s how I have rolled ever since.

Repressed memories. I guess you have to be over 6 ft to know about them.

I’m an openly outspoken recovering alcoholic. No projection here. I can spot them a mile away, though. Good luck!

You defined projecting with your response. I appreciate the good luck.

This may be terrible advice but a guy at work quit drinking and smoking by taking mushroom chocolates at night. “1 little square to take the edge off, 3 to trip balls”. I know that’s trading one thing for another. I think the brand was silly farms
