Quit smoking weed

My gf (no pics) informed me she wants to get married and have children together and asked me to quit smoking weed for 90 days I guess to prove that I can go without it. I’m at 1 week.
I suffer from some pretty terrible anxiety almost 24/7 I think it’s the result of some abuse suffered in childhood. I’m in therapy, I journal, I do transcendental meditation, I have a progressive muscle relaxation routine, I exercise, I try to get at least 30 minutes of sunlight on as much of my skin as possible (no pics) and have started grounding.
I also take Prozac daily and see a therapist every other week.
I’ve smoked for 20 years or more and it’s been really helpful for me. I went from getting kicked out of college to graduating with honors, and it’s been helpful in my career and for my current masters program.
I guess my question is, is there anything else I can be doing because I am still struggling with the anxiety and sometimes panic attacks and now I lack a somewhat instantaneous intervention I used to rely on.

This is what happens when you stop doing something you’ve been addicted to for 20 years. You’ll get get through it

Yeah dude. I was sexually abused as a kid. I’m pretty sure that’s where the anxiety comes from and not weed. And nice job not to include the part about getting kicked out of college and then graduating with honors.
Thanks for your contribution.

All those things were present before I started smoking. That’s why I started smoking and have been successful the past 20 years.

I do those when I deploy and have to work 15 hour days for 21 or more days in a row. They definitely perk me up but now I get a headache when I use them.
I’ve taken modafinil before and that was helpful. Closest thing to the benefits of smoking weed without being intoxicated that I ever experienced.

Sounds crazy, but join a 12 step group

Why would I do that? I’ve already stopped. I’m already in therapy? I’m asking for help with anxiety. Going to a 12 step and listening to people talk about how they ripped off their families and lied to their loved ones to keep drinking isn’t going to be helpful to me.
But I sincerely appreciate the suggestion.

I’m in AA. That’s not what it is, but good luck.

I would explain all that to the girlfriend if you haven't done so. The notion that you can't be a good husband and father while using marijuana is bullshite. You could experiment w/ some CBD or delta 9 products that are currently legal. CBD supposedly reduces anxiety. You say "smoke" weed so you could switch over to gummies, tinctures, vape, capsules, topical creams. They make all kinds of products in California. I was going to suggest microdosing mushrooms but not sure if that is an anxiety reducing substance.

My cousin is alcoholic and I went with him to support him. That’s exactly what it was every time I went. I’m glad yours isn’t like that and I am glad it’s working for you.

I have. Micro dosing shrooms is actually a good idea. I’ve done them recreationally and in a therapeutic setting along with other stuff like ayahuasca.
CBD is not a bad idea either.
Thanks, man.

You didn’t list a spiritual component.
We are spiritual beings and our soul needs to be connected to a Higher Power. For life, for weed, for joy, for peace, for anything.
I choose Jesus because of the historical accuracy of the Bible that is backed by science.

She's asking you to go without it for her, not you. Be alert my friend and my suggestion is to communicate your struggles with her, explain to her your feelings on where you can agree.
This is no way to start a marriage and family,

Find a therapist who practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or narrative therapy. Exposure therapies are the most helpful for trauma and definitely the most effective for anxiety. The book “Hope and help for your nerves” can help change your mindset on anxiety. Most therapist will recommend coping mechanisms and that’s actually going to be counterproductive for most people. You HAVE to face the pain to get through it.

So you're just gonna take a massive fricking bong rip on Day 91?
I got news for you, buddy. When that day rolls around the first words out of her mouth are going to be "You didn't need weed for the last 3 months. You don't need it moving forward."
