A1C heading in the wrong direction. I run 4-5 times a week but sweets, bread, and fried stuff do me in. Is it as simple as cutting that out? Should i be more intense with a low/no carb diet completely at this point? Any advice. Need to drop 40 lbs if I’m honest with myself.

No advice but it’s tough on me also. Not the bread part, and sweets I only break down and eat if someone puts it in front me, seldom buy any. Fried food is my Achilles heel. My top 3 favorite foods are fried squirrel, fried chicken, and fried fish, that literally rounds out my top 3

So probably 60. Obviously fried food is bad for you, but being fat is worse.

Pretty simple, start tracking your diet and stay in a caloric deficit. Stay lifting weights 3 times a week instead of running so much. By lifting I mean legit program.

Will Wade runs everyday too. You see how that’s going for him?

Your body adapts so easily to jogging that it’s basically useless.

Can you present any actual evidence?

Plenty of studies that show lifting is by far the most efficient way to change your body comp. Menno has posted plenty of studies showing how much better lifting is for health than jogging.

If he likes running though, he should keep doing it. Just cut back some and lift also.

I’m not against running, I’m against jogging. Sprint and lift to change body composition.

And the evidence is truly overwhelming. It’s like asking for evidence that the earth is round.

It’s not that jogging doesn’t work to lose weight, it’s that it’s inefficient... sprinting and lifting are much more highly effective.

EPOC.

Start lifting weights. Running is overrated. If you want to get in cardio, walking is perfectly fine unless you like to do 5ks with friends, family, or personal competition(all overrated IMO). After Every meal, go for a short walk. Walking after eating helps prevent a big insulin spike. Get the whole family together and walk.

Gotta cut out sugar. Switch all regular sodas to diet. Yeah, someone may argue Diet Coke is bad(I disagree I think they’re a great tool for dieting), but frick them, you need to eliminate as much sugar as you can. Stop the sweet teas, too. Replace the cup of rice with veggies. Broccoli with melted cheese? Amazing.

Replace your carb calories with meat. Don’t be afraid of steaks, chicken thighs, fish. Great for you.

Move as much as possible. 10 push-ups every hour, every day. 10 squats, 25 jumping jacks. Whatever.

This may be true. However, it didn’t work for me. Running was far more effective for me in regards to weight loss. None of the people in my weekly long distance run group are overweight. None of them.

Make it a priority. Cheating only hurts you. Be accountable. Not a temporary situation. Make a lifestyle change.

I don't disagree with this but that's not what you said.
