DASH diet

Eat low GI index and GI load foods

I stopped drinking anything but water, stopped eating fried foods, stopped eating bread and white rice.

I eat (baked) lean ground meat, top sirloin, fish, shrimp, scallops, tuna, chicken, whole grain brown rice/thin spaghetti, broccoli, leafy greens, and beans

For snacks I eat pecans, peanuts, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, pepperoni, sticks like slim Jim’s but they are ham/Swiss, cubed cheese, and sometimes a small (10) ritz crackers

I also incorporate 1 cheat day a week where I’ll eat whatever I want for 1 meal that day. I’ll also drink a Dr Pepper zero and eat 1 sweet

Ever other day of the week I’m on my diet.

A1C got up to 12.1 (I developed bad habits because of Covid) and I have hypertension. Since I’ve been dieting (month) I’m down 15 pounds and my A1c is around 6.5

6’1” 217 right now and I’m shooting for 190 and my A1c below 6 by my next dr appointment in July

It started with you taking offense to what i said. Sorry that it annoyed you as I never meant it to. I was simpling stating that the studies show that out of all the forms of exercise jogging and other slower steady state cardio are the least effecient when it comes to body comp and long term health. We can debate those merits if you want, but i dont want want the H&F board to become this big lifters vs runners pissing contest. I never meant nor would I ever want this board to become that.

We can agree on that. Everybody loses in that scenario
