well i've officially run 4 days out of the last week so i think i can quietly creep back in this thread.
October-February just kicked my arse across the board with life. But after a 6 month remodel, I'm back home and able to just take off on runs in the morning or at lunch.
taking the better part of 6 months off and getting back into it really sucks guys. i had a couple of false starts where i thought i was going to get back into it, but fate just didn't have that in the cards.
so much extra blubber and my lungs feel like i'm just starting off like 5 years ago.

I’m finally getting going again for the fourth time in the last year. I’m a little scared to post this, because it seems like every time I do life happens and I end up missing several days again. I haven’t had a consistent 6 months of running for 5 years.

Love the transparency Patrick..
I'm getting started again soon..last run was 1/17 so I'll see what the damage was , but in the end , I'll take it with a smile.
Learned from my mistakes and going to finally listen to me..not my watch, not a plan

Ran a tempo tonight. It was supposed to be 40 mins, but I cut it off at 23 mins. I ran it too fast and didn’t pace it right. Ran my fastest 5K at 23 mins. Not too bad for almost 50.

Ditto. Hence my false start statement. Couple of times I thought I had some clearance but something always came up.
My biggest hurdle right now is waking up and getting out the door.

I’ve continued running in the morning for a couple of years. I just haven’t been as consistent as I would like to be. I don’t think I have completely stopped running longer than a few weeks since I started 10 years ago, and that was due to an injury. I have, however, allowed things to interrupt several training cycles. As a result, I have only actually raced once in the last 3 years.

For those that start/stop running often, how many days/weeks does it take to feel you are "back"?
Posted on 3/4/21 at 2:16 pm to HeartAttackTiger
It usually takes me a couple of weeks of consistent running to feel like I am making real progress.

I'm right there with you
in fact, on today's lunch run, it was such a nice day and I felt great on the run that I've convinced myself that I'm going to actually train for a 50 miler next year
right now I'm 100% certain I'm going to do it, but there is this little voice in the back of my head telling me that you should know by now that something will come up and ruin your plans
I mean this thread was literally started because I wanted to train for another marathon that I never ran

how are they assigning corrals? strictly based on the expected finish time people enter when they sign up? people love to stretch the truth on that one and then people have to bob and weave
Posted on 3/5/21 at 10:03 am to ks_nola
It just says corrals based on predicted pace time listed on entry form.
My wife signed us up, she said "I dont remember entering predicted pace times for us"
If they arent too strict we might slip up a corral or 2.
ETA: I dont mind being in the back, I just hope I dont have to sit there from 6:45 to their predicted 8:00am start time for corral H. Surely the waves wont be spaced that far apart.

Shooting for 1:30:00 ish.
Weather looks to be perfect, overcast, if only a tad windy but that's being picky.
