Anyone that's not at least an RD that's doing this kind of thing is unqualified and working out of scope IMO.

Most RDs I know are fat cows that are too enamored by government pyramids and plates. I would stay as far away from most RDs as possible.

Also, this nutritionist is a dumbass. Take a vitamin D supplement and don’t take in huge amounts of trash, fatty milk

This is why I love this board. His nutritionist has a PhD in Nutrition Sciences and is working with this guys primary care doctor to address very specific deficiencies and the board is calling them unqualified dumbasses lol.

Gotta love it.

I understand the skepticism concerning this nutritionist,to drink that much milk daily sounds off the wall.
The problem is the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics which controls the education and licensing of dietitians is very much beholding to the food industry and their corporate sponsors which include McDonalds,Coca-Cola,Kellogg’s and numerous others.
There are numerous studies that point out the harmful effects of dairy. At the same time, there are numerous studies that indicate dairy is beneficial to health.Thing is if one investigates the authors of studies favorable to dairy invariably you will find they have ties to the dairy industry.
It all gets very confusing, patients certainly can’t expect much guidance from physicians.Very few have more than a cursory knowledge or interest in nutrition, their focus is on pharmaceuticals.
I only ever knew one Dr.,a cardiologist, that was a advocate of preventing heart disease through diet. His recommendations were for vegetarian diet, lots of legumes,no dairy at all,no simple carbs or sugar. He did allow for 1 “cheat day” a week. This
was the diet he followed, his father died young from heart attack and he himself had coronary artery disease.
I witnessed some heated arguments between him and the RDs at our hospital for the nutritional “education” they gave his patients.
Adding to the confusion there are always “outliers” like President Trump and Warren Buffet that reportedly eat crap diets and seem to thrive.

But I still don't see how removing broccoli and adding a shite ton of milk and some rice is going to help with sleep or digestion.

Idk, but I definitely feel less bloated. And I haven't woken up just to drink water the last two nights.

It is likely a fluke from putting in a hard days work sunday, but I managed to sleep from 12-2 this morning and then from 3-10:30.

That's easily the most sleep I've gotten in a long time.

Still feel bloated, but have been significantly less hungry. And I at least feel somewhat sleepy as opposed to my usual wired and exhausted.

I don't really understand the RD hate, especially when many of the people who talk shite about them have 0 medical or nutritional training and have never worked with one. These people go through years of training and college and many have a masters.. yeah, I'm trusting them over many, MANY "gurus".

Just an update.

I initially gained a few lbs. But back down to starting weight.

But more importantly. Other than one or two nights... I've been sleeping and have energy.

I'm actually making it through the night without waking up wired after a few hours.

After digging in a little more, buddy says that when someone is repeatedly waking up in the middle of the night no matter how tired, it's often due to a nutritional deficiency. The wired and stressed brain is wiping out easy energy stores and wanting more.

Sounds fishy, and is exactly why he held off on telling me.

But it definitely works.

I suppose carrots, apples, and milk aren't the end of the world afterall.

Off to bed.

Now to start focusing on calories as well.

Awesome. Being tired sucks.

Good luck in your journey and keep posting. I love watching progress.

I've never gotten better sleep than when I took cold showers and ice baths, especially the ice baths which I worked up from cool baths. I slept like a rock during those days. It was fairly insane....I have a wife these days and she judges

A non-nerd way to help improve sleep is shutting down the computer and putting the phone in night mode. Read a book and avoid EMF and blue light.

After watching his talk to the gym on youtube, I'm inclined to agree.

Especially the milk at night. He specifically mentions an adrenaline spike at night waking you up.

What I was told seems a bit more focused on nutrient dense foods that have carbs, rather than carbs for the sake of carbs.

It's going well except for this carona nonsense. I have little time for breakfast or lunch.

Look into the carnivore diet, seriously. The idea flies in the face of everything we’ve be been taught about nutrition, but it may have merit. Others will poo-poo it, but it works if you stick to it as designed. Inflammation way down. Weight drops significantly within the first week (though this is mostly water from cutting the carbs, but definitely look leaner - haven’t done any body fat testing). No counting calories, just make sure you’re eating relatively healthy meat choices (not hot dogs, bacon, etc). Haven’t worked out since the shutdown started and have lost zero muscle in that time. It’s really cool what red meat, salt, eggs, and grass fed tallow only can do for your body/mind.
