Sad thing is 90% of providers will see those numbers and say you are fine and within range.

That’s what my PCP said, thus I’m looking at PeterMD.

Also, SHBG is 96.9 nmol and estradiol is 33.6 pg/ml

This blows my mind.

5/25 my sperm count was zero. I was on 120 mg/week of test and taking clomid plus HCG. Total test was around 1300.

Got tested again this week as part of a fertility consultation. I stopped TRT in June of 2025. I haven't been on clomid or HCG since August of 25. Currently my total test is in the high 500s. The only thing I'm taking is boron. I feel pretty good but libido ain't anywhere near what it was on TRT. My sperm count was freakin' GREAT. I've taken enough shots in the nuts in my life to where I was kind of worried about it.

I've said before that I don't think I'll get back on TRT if my levels stay like this but frick that, I think as soon as I have a healthy baby I'm getting back on for birth control purposes. I know it ain't 100% but it helps. I'm also currently 152 lbs at 13% BF. Last June when I stopped TRT I was 162 lbs at 14%. It's been hell staying disciplined AF with my diet and exercise since I got off. The first 2 months off were absolute misery. I liked having more wiggle room to frick around with my diet when I was on the TRT.

Good lord! I am not a happy camper. And I know you all warned me. Short story is, went in to the Urologist (this one came recommended) on March 2. I promptly did bloodwork next morning after orders were sent in to Labcorp. I did this twice. Received very little communication for the doctors office. Finally got word yesterday that the Doc wants to prescribe me 200mg of test every other week. Got clarification that yes, he wants me to do one injection every two weeks. I try to get clarification of what kind of testosterone he wants to prescribe me, and have received no other information. I told them I would prefer Cypionate as opposed to the Xyosted he originally wanted to give me. Said they send in the script to the pharmacy. They have yet to do so. Of course if I ever get the stuff I’ll be splitting the dose up to twice a week injections. Meanwhile I have an appointment scheduled for a different doctor. I’m just not happy with the lack of attention and inability to provide me information.

For the record I’m 53. First total test was 334 and second total test was 304. Free test during first set of labs was 6.1. Doc didn’t order free test for second labs.

That sounds like a shite show.

200 mg every other week, so 100 mg per week. That still seems to me like a low dosage, but I'm sure he's going conservative to begin with, then draw blood after about two months and then see what your levels are.

I'd start at about 150 mg per week, injecting at the minimum of twice a week. The more frequently you inject per week to reach your weekly dosage level the more stable and consistent your levels stay in your blood. Also, the more often you inject at a lower dosage in order to reach your weekly overall dosage, the more your estradiol levels stay in check.

When you hit your system with large shots, the more conversion to E2 you will have. When you're injecting more frequently, but with smaller mg doses, the less it converts to E2.

With all of that said,,,,since you're brand new to TRT, I'd start with a doctor in order to get your feet under you. Once you get familiar with it, ditch the doc, and order your own test c and blood work yourself online. FWIW, I inject every other day.

I’m sure it’s been covered somewhere in this long thread, but I would never find it. Does anyone use the T creams? Do they work? I’m not very keen on needles (perhaps due to low T, ha).

Creams work but will cost quite a bit more. The gels are garbage though.

t creams do work

essentially if the molecular weight of the powder is below 350 daltons the creams have about a 20-30% absorption rate at best. usually 10-15

but there is big risk of transfer. you have to put it on all over after a shower, its expensive etc.

SubQ shots are really not bad. That was a big hang up for me and at first I was doing it intramuscular - and was able to do it. But after some research I found subQ works fine and there is no reason to do IM that I know of. Once you get used to subQ you may be willing to take injections more often which raises the time you are at peak levels.

the key to making your peace with needles is to use small bore insulin syringes. When I first started TRT the doc I was using at the time prescribed a supply of syringes that were 21 ga. I used them twice before learning to switch to insulin syringes and now I use 29 or 30 (whatever's on sale and in stock at the time) gauge and can't even feel it.

That first doc tried to tell me that I couldn't draw from the vial with such a small bore - nonsense. It helps to warm the vial first since testcyp is suspended in oil, but it takes maybe 5 seconds to draw vs instantly with a bigger bore needle. That's negligible considering the benefits of the smaller bore.

I hate needles as well. My wife has to do my injections for me. I thought after a year I'd be used to it and start sticking myself, but it's not happening.

Also the reason I haven't donated blood yet to get my hematocrit down. Just keep pushing it off.

THis was me before I took the plunge. I found any reason to not do injections but all of my research brought me back to injections are really the only way. I have/had a phobia of needles. Couldn't look at them, would get dizzy/lightheaded doing bloodwork (still do). However, injecting myself because routine and very easy after about 2-3 weeks. I don't even think about it anymore but I do still hate needles. The injections are very easy

Same - my hatred of needles has me wanting to never do this so I am trying everything in my power to keep the hematocrit in check. ~16 months in and I'm still not to the range of needing to consider donations

So I finally just started my test c. Of course doc wanted me to do 200 mg/ml once every two weeks. Yeah not doing that. Started splitting it up into twice a week rather. So far so good. I have no expectations this soon. But the more I read on the topic the more I think I should do more than twice a week. What are everyone’s thoughts on a M-W-F routine or an every other day routine? I know the numbers wouldn’t add up all that evenly but I hear and read that these are probably ideal injection schedules for bigger guys.

Thanks in advance.

If you can tolerate daily injections that's the most optimal. Basically, the more frequently you can inject the less peaks and valleys you'll experience.

I just started 3 times per week. Doing this to get away from estrogen blocker. I inject M W F.

It’s better but I miss the big test spike from once a week.

I go twice a week and its fine but yes, the more injections the more level you will stay.

Nice to get to that last injection for the vial and there be about .1 ml extra.

I’m injecting weekly. Thinking of splitting my dosage. I usually inject on Wednesday nights? What would be the next best day. Saturday or Sunday?
