Go see your doctor get your testosterone checked I’m 59 will be 60 this year and still in 34” Levi’s. I do a 20 minute kettlebell routine workout three days a week, then walk do like cardio on the other days, I’m probably right now in better shape now than I was in my 30s.
It’s possible to still get shredded or cut without killing yourself with light weights but consistency and monitor food and calorie intake is a key in my opinion

Depends on his height. At our height it wouldn't be good.

It’s amazing that the Internet still doesn’t get that 2/3 of the muscle in your arm is the triceps.

And lats are almost all of your back and a big part of your muscle mass.

Need to work em separately.

As opposed to low weight/high reps I've found it to work better.

Med weight high reps with short breaks will give you hypertrophy.

Strength training is heavy weights with low reps.

Eat a bunch with a focus on protein and lift heavy.

When you get over 50 gaining is tough. The amount of strain you have to put in for incremental growth becomes more and more. I personally think the overall level of intensity from compound lifts do more to generate growth overall than just pounding out high reps on isolated movements. Hit curls at the end of a pull day and triceps at the end on a push day…you’ll do fine.

Shredded is sub 10% BF. Very few individuals are walking around like that Especially 50 plus year olds. The goal should be build and maintain muscle mass, mobility and reduce BF if you are carrying bad weight

I’ll never be shredded and don’t care to be. I just want to be healthy and look like I work out.

A reasonable and very attainable goal for most people
