I think a good rule of thumb is: almost always opt for a non-drug-based approach to fixing yourself.

But that takes discipline and effort.

Swallowing a pill or getting an injection is easy.

90% of the population is not going to put in the work, and that's just a fact. Once you accept that, the preferable option is for a pill vs. clogging up our health system with obesity-related health issues. Mounjaro and drugs like it are a huge positive for society.

One week in and no weight lost, possibly gained a pound and no change in appetite as of yet.

This is sort of my feeling on it. But I think that a lot of people won't put in the work. But also on the flip side, some people really are trying and are struggling.

I lift weights 3-5 days a week and stick to a low carb diet. I think my body just doesn’t react like everyone else’s to these medications. I’ve tried trulicity, ozempics and now monjaro and none seem to curb my appetite like it’s doing for everyone else.

you are going to have to have some self control and you have to work up to highest dose to really get full effects

but if you are on a low carb diet...are you in a caloric deficiet? no offense but being in a low carb diet doesnt mean shite if you are eating 5k calories a day

also you say you lift...are you following a plan? what is your step count?

what are your stats and what are your goals? current calories and macros?

let us help you some along the way especially until the mounjaro really kicks in.

This. It's all about calories, and you may be surprised how few you burn through exercise.

Not really on a program at the moment. Recently finished up a program from PPSA. Nothing changing for me in the gym either. Probably due to my test levels being the levels of a 90 year old lady. I’m 6’1” 270 lbs and would love to be around 225 or lower. No clue on my step count and counting my macros.

there is your problem bro

got to take some accountability and responsibility. didnt get to 270 overnight, not going to take it off overnight. set a goal for the end of the year and get after it.

start by weighing and tracking everythign that goes in your mouth over the next 2 weeks just to get an idea and start tracking steps for 2 weeks to get an average. adjust as needed from there

for workout....pick a plan, stick to it.

Im trying, last lab results my testosterone serum was 129 and my free test was 5.5. Dr said it’s due to sleep apnea and wants me to wear a cpap for several months before I go back. Everyone I talk to tells me that is extremely low for a 43 year old.

it is, start wearing the cpap. if you are 43, get on trt

start tracking your food

start tracking your steps

start tracking your training

take responsibility for everythign you can and start being accountable to yourself. the mounjaro will help you but you have to help yourself too. cant keep doign the same things and then wonder why things are not changing.

I have a love-hate thing with these drugs. If there truly is a miracle drug, the long term benefits will be astounding. Society will be healthier, less tax dollars on obesity, less people dying.

At the same time, there's a part of me that wants people to have to lose weight the "right" way (whatever that means).

But the benefits to society as a whole are too great. A miracle drug, regardless of personal moral implications, is a net positive.

Don’t morbidly obese people already eat when they aren’t hungry? I’m guessing that’s why some aren’t seeing results. I wish they’d offer therapy in conjunction with this med

Just got my blood work done yesterday and it’s pretty unbelievable. Started on 2.5 Mounjaro end of January and now taking 5mg.

A1c was 10.5 in April of 2022, now it’s at 4.9. I’ve been eating well and busting my arse though. Down 48 pounds since September. Seems too good to be true

Excellent news. Are you putting in the work and changing your lifestyle or just eating less amount of shitty foods that got you to that condition in the first place?

I lift everyday now except for Sunday. The shittiest food I eat now is bread for the occasional sandwich. the shittiest thing I drink now is the occasional Coke Zero. I had lost 17 pounds before I even began Mounjaro. I’ve changed everything and just got used to it.
