Planet Fitness gets more hate than it deserves and helps more people than hurts.

There, I said it. I'm not proud of it, but it's done.

Rest Pause method is the best for breaking plateaus. Bring on the downvotes.

CrossFit is generally misunderstood, but the brand itself doesn't do much to alleviate that problem.

Here is a good one that a nutritionist once told me. He said that if macronutrients were labeled differently and they were renamed to what they actually do; people would look at food differently. He would rename the 3 macros fat, muscle, and energy.

Carbohydrate/ Fat
Protein/ Muscle
Fat/ Energy

This is definitely unpopular with me. I feel like I'm gonna explode over here.

Watch a beginner go from dumbbell curls and then go do cable curls. They get humbled fast.

Oh here's a good one..

You don't need to drink a gallon of water to be properly hydrated unless you're working out in the heat.

Coffee and sodas actually hydrate more than they dehydrate. Including energy drinks.

Beginners don't need to do curls.

For a bit, but then you'll want to switch to Lakers curls.

Shouldn't be an unpopular opinion. You aren't wrong. Excess carbs beyond energy expenditure make you fat (triggers excess insulin=triggers triglyceride storage in fat cells). Any of us Ketotards that disagree are wrong. When insulin resistant + high carb, you are bound to get fat.

I love this thread BTW

Need to see more on this. You are correct about water. If we look at hydration as electrolyte balance (which it actually is) water can be very dehydrating. Coffee excretes sodium naturally, this is why I wouldn't say it's actually hydrating.

Keep em coming

Outside of a few instances(zoom vaporfly and metcona) Nike makes vastly inferior products across the board.

It may be a bit of an overstatement, but here is one study showing no difference in hydration between moderate coffee drinkers and those who did not drink any coffee..

LINK
Z

Since they drank the same amount of fluids but the coffee group wasn't any more dehydrated, I call it hydrating. Not advocating replacing all water with coffee, but most liquids you drink will keep you hydrated
