I’ve changed my diet up over the last 6-8 weeks, and especially over the last week or so, I’ve found my morning poop(s)— while present— lacking. I also feel like (and the scale agrees) I’m carrying a couple pounds of bloat weight, which may or may not be related. Looking over my dietary logs, I see there have been a couple of days over the last two weeks where I’ve had as little as 5g of fiber.

So, what are you guys doing when you’re on protein heavy, low-to-moderate carb diets to stay on schedule fiber-wise? While I’d certainly prefer a natural option, I’m trying to stay relatively calorie conscious (~1900/day), so adding 250-300 calories a day in something like milled flaxseed isn’t really an option for me.

Not fiber, but I decided to try Magnesium Glycinate for sleep. I haven't seen a noticeable effect on sleep, but it has seemed helpful for regularity. I'm one of those people who could previously go 2-3 days without a dump and not feel any negative effects.

Try some benefiber - mixes into water clear. You won’t even known it’s in there.

Serving size of 15 calories

I do it with my preworkout

It has no taste like Metamucil .

Mix your fiber: prebiotic and probiotic. Psyllium and inulin are the two. Regular as clockwork.

Have you considered Metamucil?

For the last 6 months, each morning I drink a glass of cold water with a tbsp of sugar-free Metamucil.

Game-changer.

I no longer need wet wipes. I rarely even have to wipe my arse.

That and caffeine sounds like a gamble during squats.

Do you know anyone that sales Melaleuca Products? Their Fiberwise provides 50% of your daily allowance of fiber.

I’ve tried Metamucil in the past with varying degrees of success. My wife actually had some Tree of Life (or something like that) stuff she gave me. Will report back. If I don’t, she poisoned me, baws. Avenge me!!!

P.s. I won’t be mixing it with a pre-workout!

My gastro doc told me to get on this stuff about 3 years ago after my last Upper GI. As you mentioned, it is in fact a game changer. #2's are a walk in the park now. Minimal TP usage. However, and this is a big however. If you eat a high protein diet and lots of it as most lifters do, you will shite a lot so you better plan on working around this if you go down this path. I can work around it because most of these take place in the morning usually before I go lift and during once the pre-workout goes through, but these Metamucil dumps are literally it hits you and you better be danger close to a shitter.

Yep, my Gastro after my colonoscopy told me to add Metamucil to my daily routine. He said I had a some minor diverticulosis (not the -itis) and he'll see me in 8 years (I was 2 yrs late).

I use the sugar-free fiber orange flavor fiber from Wal-Mart. Mix with water. Works same as Metamucil and cheaper.

You looked at the label? Why would anyone use that? It has Maltodextrin, Aspartame, and Yellow 6 in it. None of those should be in any health product.

I take 4-6 fiber capsules a day. As others have said, after a week or so of your body adjusting, you don't even need TP.

I just buy the store brand of psyllium husk capsules. The Metamucil brands are about double the price of Great Value/TopCare with the same results.

I take a teaspoon of psyllium husk powder 2x daily in protein shakes. It’s 30 calories and works well for me.

Update: doesn’t look like my wife poisoned me after all. After a couple of days using her fiber supplements, shite literally got real. I’ll keep taking them to stay on schedule; I also like the idea of more blackberries and raspberries (9g fiber each, per cup) in my diet.

Here’s what she gave me:

This one is mostly soluble fiber

This one is all insoluble fiber. I have to mix this in with a protein shake; otherwise it’s like drinking sawdust.
