Only thing that worked for me was rest and loosing weight. It’s a tough one to deal with. If I get a little sore now I will ice it and that usually knocks it out.

Dr. Scholl’s custom fit orthotics not only got rid of my plantars fasciitis, but got rid of my foot/ankle swelling, knee pain and lower back pain. I have flat feet and felt the difference as soon as I put them on. I’m kicking myself till this day because I let it linger for almost a year after a friend recommended them.

Roll foot on frozen water bottle. Also can use a tennis ball.

Same here. I have inserts in all of my shoes and work boots. Life changer.

Stretches are paramount. I’ve struggled with having plantar in both feet at the same time twice. Also, I have some high end inserts. Rolling a frozen water bottle or tennis ball also helps.

A long time ago, I had mild to sometimes moderate cases of this. Would hurt pretty badly when I got out of bed in the morning and would bother me sometimes when running. Didn't do much other than rest it when needed and remained patient. When it finally went away, I never had an issue with it again. Knock on wood I guess.

I had all kinds of foot pains a few years ago. First thing in the morning my feet would be painful and stiff. After reading about how the muscles of your foot need strengthening I started walking...then jogging ....and they went away.

Do exercises that make your lower leg and foot muscles stronger.

Came to post this. Think I read this type of suggestion here on the board a while back.

Helped tremendously .. I even recommend it to my patients that come in for foot pain/plantar fasciitis or things similar .

I threw out the pair of old sneakers which caused it. Seriously, buy a new pair if that’s your problem too. The “spine” of the shoe I was wearing had the plastic exposed from the material cushioning being worn down, which resulted in me being introduced to the wonder that is plantar fasciitis. Took over a year to get rid of, but that’s because I didn’t realize what the cause was for so long. As far as physical remedies I would recommend everything that’s been suggested before my post. Time is the real toll imo.

I experienced this for almost one year. I bought special shoes, wore the boot at night, rolled with frozen water bottle, got a steroid shot...absolutely nothing worked.

It was just time and quality shoes. It gradually got better after 8 or so months. Luckily, I had a trip planned to Yosemite and it subsided enough that I was able to enjoy that trip and hiking last year.

Had it in both feet a few years ago, ended up getting physical therapy to knock it out. Felt like torture as they “massaged” my feet with metal spatulas. For home remedy, I have golf balls that I have in the freezer for stepping in and rolling around on. Other than that, a ton of stretching and strengthening lower leg and ankles as has been suggested is only thing that works. Make sure you stretch your Achilles’ tendon and not just your calf.

Stretch those calves. Get some good insoles. Rest. Be patient. It can take a while to die down.
