If anybody has good ideas for Keto snacks and meal recipes, please share. I came across one Keto cooking video that lays out a whole week's worth of Keto meals that are not boring.

Do you get on reddit?

If so, r/ketorecipes is great.

Also, r/keto and r/ketogains (if lifting).

I buy meat sticks bulk. They are salty and good.

I also have taken to frying up pepperoni (I eat a lot just cold also). It's really good.

Enjoyed it.

Made this recently as well, Italian Sausage Spaghetti Sauce Casserole, but with Chicken Sausage because I already had it LINK

Other snacks: Pork Grinds and any keto friendly dip. Jerky. Cheese sticks.

1 can of tuna, drained
Three tablespoons of mayonnaise
Four eggs, finely chopped
Couple shakes of Tabasco
Couple shakes of Tony's

Near perfect macro ratio and tasty. Adjust the mayo more or less for the consistency you like

Keto recipes always does net carbs. I don’t know, I just think net carbs is a farse. I guess it’s a good start, but I always get disappointed when I see these delicious meals on there and they’re 40 or 50 carbs but they say it’s nine net carbs.

But I eat a few things every day. Nuts berries avacado salad quest chips.

I refuse to believe crap like this. Regardless if “keto” is good for you.

Well if the beef comes from a very good source or is 93/7 and the bacon is uncured and the cheese is great fed and it meets his macros to keep him in a caloric deficit while providing time of protein and satiety, not really sure how it could be considered unhealthy.

This belief comes from the worn out notion one must suffer to be healthy.

First, there's many recipes on there with very low carbs and in turn nearly no net carbs.

Secondly, do you know the science behind why net carbs are a thing?

And finally, I also sometimes stay away or am cautious with recipes or products like zero carb bread that seem too good to be true. But knowing what's in something and the effect it has on your body goes a long way.

Strict keto is less than 20g of carbs per day. Protein is a requirement and fat fills in the caloric intake for the day.

Atkins has different phases. Phase 1 is similar to Keto.

Since I'm new to Keto, I couldn't tell you how it's different from Atkins. But based on what I've seen, it seems like Keto is healthier than Atkins. I've seen videos on YouTube about people supporting 'clean Keto', which is grass feed meats, nuts, avocado, seeds, aged cheese, coconut/avacado/olive oils, and an assortment of low carb veggies.

Yea ketogains is one of the most popular versions of keto and is the most popular for lifters or those seeking body recomp.

They don't chase ketones, they focus on quality meats and eggs focusing on hitting your protein goal. They also focus on green leafy veggies to help micronutrients. It's a clean version of keto focusing on protein first and higher levels of protein.

Keto in general is the same concept as Atkins though. Different people do different ways.

In general, I personally believe if you are going to go keto, go all in. Do not straddle the fence as you will never fat adapt. I also believe in the higher protein approach of approx 1g per pound of bodyweight. Track your calories if body composition changes are your goal. Eat avocados, quality oils, grass fed butter as your fats. Do not deliberately add fat just to do it. Eat green veggies. Keep net carbs to below 25g.

Generally stay away from nuts, nut butters, and cheese as most people over eat the hell out of them.

If you want to add a little butter to steak or you want to add olive oil for a salad or butter to veggies or what ever, it's fine but you need to count your calories.

If you don't lift and just want to lose wait, same principles apply but instead of 50% or so of calories from protein, it should be closer to 60-70% of calories from fat.

What happens to most people though is just like any other diet, they screw it up. They try to recreate to foods they love which got them in the shape they were in to begin with. Or they eat hidden carbs or they never measure anything and go over calories and after a couple weeks weight loss stalls.

That's why carnivore works so well. It forces you to focus on what really matter, quality protein from a quality source with quality fats. No using almond flour trying to recreate a cheese cake or some other BS. Or no 10k calories meat pie, no 1200 calories from a "handful" of nuts, no "spoonful" of but butter that was actually 800 calories etc.

In the end, most people instinctively no how to eat. Quality meats, quality eggs and green veggies and avocados. It isn't hard and you still have to eat less calories than you burn and that's why everyone shod measure and weigh everything for a while to track macros overall. Once you get it down you can use fist and palm sizes to estimate.

Tldr: Atkins is keto with no regard to caloric intake. Many versions of keto but all involve very low carbohydrate intake.
