I know diet is the only way you will truly lose weight but if adding a supplement, what would you recommend?

There is literally No Supplement that exists to burn fat.
None. The only way is eat less than you burn. Calories in vs calories out.
Anything you do other than that is not worth doing.

There are supplements that raise your base line metabolism which burns more calories which means greater fat loss. There are also supplements that can raise T3 output from the thyroid which causes an uncoupling effect allowing more fat to be burned.
Your second part is correct but realize eating less than you burn can me burning more.

I would argue that they can cause more fat to be burned in some instances. However, they do not cause fat loss they add to the effect. They also won’t work for everyone.
Your body will eventually find an equilibrium. The body always tries to find balance.

Eca stack has been proven in studies to raise basal metabolic rate by 15% or more. So it directly makes the body burns calories. Eventually your tolerance builds and you have to take more or cycle off, that is true.
Same thing with thyroid stimulation supplements, the over the counter ones well not make you go out of normal range but will put you at the very top of the range ramping metabolism.
Tta will directly uncouple like Dnp does just not nearly to that rate. Not sure of it's availability anymore otc though.
Now the rest that work through cortisol reduction, insulin mimickers, and the ones that work at the nuclei level, sure they only help the body become more effective at burning the fat and very so slightly.
Eca is still the best.

Aren't they illegal if marketed as a health supplement?

With ma hueng or whatever it is called, yes. It there are some with the akloids but still best to just buy bronkaid and the caff separate.

Plus ECA (at least for me) helps curb appetite which is very beneficial when cutting calories.

Any particular brand better than the other? I read that a lot of people use the ingredients separately and substitute fish oil for aspirin.

E--Bronkaid or Primatene. Bronkaid is way more cost efficient.
C--NoDoz, one pill gives you 200 mg, which is the ratio you're looking for.
A--A lot of people think this is optional. Plus, Aspirin has sides. If you do A, baby Aspirin to reduce sides. I'm not personally of the opinion this is necessary.
Ratio is 25 mg E, 200 mg C.
