Anyway to tell if someone is on the juice?

I've been training/lifting consistently for years and never use any supplements other than the occasional protein shake. However, I see guys in my gym that tell me they've been "powerlifting" for 2-3 years that are lifting much more weight than me. I understand that age, genetics, and other things factor into this. I am just curious as to how much weight people can truly lift without being on steroids? I really don't want to ever feel the need to start using the juice, but I feel like I am falling behind

You have to ask to see their peen. If it's tiny then they are most likely on the juice. It's not foolproof but it's highly accurate.

If they’re lifting more than you, they’re on gear. It’s science.

Not sure if this is a serious question or not but I'll play along.

One way to tell is disproportionate trap and delt growth compared to other body parts.

Personally, everyone at my gym roughly my age or older who looks better and/or lifts heavier than me is obviously on gear.

All kidding aside(and slightly changing subjects), there's definitely a TRT look that I associate w/ older guys who were never fit and just starting hitting up the clinic - V-shaped torso w/ chicken legs, veiny biceps without any shoulder development, enlarged forehead w/ a strained/weathered face (see RFK Jr), etc. Also noticeable - a tendency to corner every 16-25 year old at the gym and give bogus advice on technique, exercise selection and rep schemes.

Like abusing juice or using an appropriate therapy protocol?

For instance I use as prescribed, 200 mg/ml of test cypionate once a week (I don’t have any acne or noticeable side effects other than expected lower sperm count)

I’ve been on this amount since December , I initially started with 125 in April 2024, then 160, 180. I feel close to optimal in this amount so I don’t see myself needing much more. Maybe I haven’t taken enough photos but I haven’t seen an incredible change in my physique but am tolerating more volume weight training and increased strength

I don’t think anyone would know I’m taking TRT other than me informing them

I highly doubt that. The 40 something’s on trt in the gym stick out like a sore thumb

Trt is so readily available now does it even matter?

Big shoulders means you are on juice?

What kinda gyms do you people go to?

There really isn’t a way to tell 100%. Everyone is different. I don’t see why this even matters? I’d strongly advise against using steroids (not talking about trt) unless you make money off your body. Play in the NFL? Juice all you want. To me it’s more fun to train naturally anyway.

That's so dependent on genetics.

I doubt I could ever lift more than 280-300 on bench. I could squat 400+ in HS, and even if I put 315 on the bar right now as someone who just lifts with dumbbells, it would feel easy.

My buddy benches 315 for reps easy, but can't squat more than 3 plates to save his life even with training legs.

That's got everything to do with our genetics setting an upper limit for us. If my buddy started to squat 450, I'd think something was up. Likewise, if I started throwing up 3 plates easy on bench, I'm probably enhancing.

I think the best course of action is to not worry about it. Who cares? Much like Ozempic, they know if they are doing it.

Worked out most of my life. Never felt like the gym was a competition. I could care less what someone else is lifting. We all have different fitness goals.

I can tell in two seconds after looking at them. They have a bulbous look, and if do it for years start to have a caveman look
