Another shoe rec thread, Crossfit or running shoes?

I do hiit a couple of days a week. One day is jumping rope, sleds, etc and the other day is sprint work on a track. I have a pair of Brooks Adrenaline, although they feel great, I find they're a little too bulky. I want something a little tighter fitting & sleeker shoe.
For the people who wear crossfit shoes, do you recommend a crossfit shoe that can handle/be comfortable for sprints? Or just go ahead a get another running shoe that I like better than the Brooks?

Reebok has several models that would fit what you need

I'm a gym shoe whore
Nike Metcons
Adidas AdiPowers
Hoka Bondi (although I think I'd rather the Clifton next time)

Best metcon for running?

honestly, something like Vivobarefoot Racer would probably work the best for you here

I dunno
I just get running shoes for running.

agreed, get running shoes for running and crossfit shoes for the gym. If you squat and leg press a lot, get some lifting shoes.

Looking for some new lifting shoes as I am suspecting my converse are the reason for all the toe nail issues I’ve been having lately. Just squat and deadlift. Any recs on best shoe for that? Used to have some Reebok shoes way back in my CrossFit days but that was many moons ago.

Adidas Adipower for squats, leg press, shouler press (clean and jerk if you do that)
NoBull hightop for deads and the rest off your lifts.

I’m on my 5th pair of no bulls, I think they’re fine to run in and comfortable for everything else. Some people don’t like running in them though

I bought the hightop trainer and so far they are pretty good for basic stuff and deads and straight leg deads.. I trained with Chucks for years but took a chance on NoBull. The first pair of NoBull Trainers I ripped and sent them back so I am a bit on the fence - thus far the new hightops are doing the job.
I hear since Nike boughtConverse that they made the Chucky T’s more comfortable. I have an old pair of Metcons I trained in for years too. Just can’t buy Nike anyomre after all the woke campaign BS.

It is my unwavering opinion that Vans are the best lifting shoes. Power Athlete turned me onto them in 2014 and it's been my go-to since. Much cheaper than the trendy options as well.
They are flat, stable, flexible, grippy, and give plenty of toe-room.
I find Chucks too narrow and they encourage arch drop for me.
I can do everything in Vans except distance running

I saw an article recommended those and am thinking of giving them a try. Is there a certain type people use?

Very interesting. I love my chucks but my big toes are crammed in there. I’ll have to give this a shot.

I have chucks but they made me feel like a clown

Find a pair of Reebok Nano 2's. I still wear mine for pretty much everything except squats. I have Nike Romaleo 2 lifting shoes for that.

So obviously like them?
I've been looking at trying a pair, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
I've got Metcons for legs/power lifts, Project Rock 2 for all other type stuff, and Nike Free Run 5's for cardio.

Yeah I wear them daily to the gym and go 5 times a week, they last about a year before becoming my yard work shoes.
Some people complain about running in them but I don’t have a problem with them. They dry quickly and are versatile for a variety of different training options.

The best shoe I've found for me for lifting/CF and running have been the Nano 2. It's not awesome at either, but pretty good at both, and I'm talking about running 2-3 miles max, not long distance.
Metcons are probably more stable and a better lifting shoe, but I'm not running in those things. I've been through 3 pairs of Nano 2 shoes and I'm about to buy some Metcon 6, I will only be using them for lifting though. If I'm running at all or doing plyo then I'll wear my Nanos. Everyone's feet are different though - so take this with a grain of salt.

I do some workouts in my Brooks Hyperion tempos which are “fast” running shoes.
