Looks like it will raining here this weekend and I have a 5K early Saturday AM. Any advice on running in the rain or treat it as any other day?

Grow a really long beard and get a poncho.

Make a rain themed playlist, bodygluide and/or band-aid nips and have fun with it.

Hat, change of clothes in the car and a couple of towels. Have fun. I love running in the rain.

Wear a cheap baseball hat to protect your eyes. Even if it's not raining hard, drops can get you in the eye. A cheap hat you can toss on the run if it stops raining or you decide you don't need it. Vaseline on the nips is a good idea. Thin socks and shirt that don't hold much water is a good idea too. Keep moving to stay warm before the start.

The faster you run, the faster you're done.

No need to wear a shirt if it is pouring down.

Running in the rain is awesome. Go PR.

What does this mean exactly? Shirt chaffing?

Have you ever had the pleasure of rubbing your nips raw from running? It's not fun. Showers are painful.

You may not get to the point of bleeding from a 5k, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Running in the rain always makes me conscious of having a shorter, faster stride. I’ve generally run better when it’s raining.

That being said, as long as it’s not super cold, it’s a lot of fun. Enjoy it

Yes, especially when the shirt gets wet and just like women, men's nips get pointy when it's chilly.

Just hope that they don't cancel the race.

Otherwise, just wear the lightest shoes you have with no socks.

Wait until it happens to you, then you will know.

Temps 70+. Humidity was as close to 100% as you can get without actually raining. Course wasn’t well marked and we almost got off the course after some deliberation. Still turned in a new PR, but some clown from the local run coaching place turned in a 19:00 5K time.

It started raining as soon as we finished. Like, literally as soon as we crossed the finish line. My first mile time is dropping every time I run, but the 2nd and 3rd miles aren’t improving as dramatically.
