I doubt I’m above 80-85 and what I believe is my best swing.

With driver?

I hang out around 112-115. I can get it up to low 120’s but I have no clue how good the contact will be or where the ball is gonna go.

I'm no Kyle Berkshire but consistently low 100s; so maybe could max out at 110 now.

Low 100s for this guy. Wonder what it was when I was a strapping young lad.

Bought a new 14 club set recently and I’m worried I wasn’t matched with the right shafts after a 10 year hiatus—was never good and never had lessons/AI. Typical broke to financial aid-Ivy League to upperish middle class story. Not bragging, just giving you the idea—a 6 iron was good enough to tee off with back in the day. Can still dial down with 5-PW.

My driver speed is 101 mph on average according to my golf sim membership. But I tend to balloon it because of 101 mph club speed (even trying to swing slower somehow generates 99-101 mph) and just 205 carry. My mid and short iron game was good before hiatus, living in NY where par 3 courses are common.

According to charts, my irons and woods are still in normal of regular shafts because I don’t try to kill it. My thinking is: “if I can just set everything up like a par 3, I’d be decent at golf.” So is it possible that a driver needs a stiff flex, but other clubs can stay regular?

According to the dat-er my club path and face angle are on average identical within 3 degrees to 0 if that helps.

110 if I haven't swung in about a year. 118-120 if I'm playing at least 1 time a month. 125 ish prime in early college days.

97-102 depending on the earths rotational force coupled with the moon's positioning.

I always thought I was in the low 100’s until I checked and it was actually low 90’s and high 80’s. I got to mid 90’s a few times. I was a little surprised it was that low.

Not sure of clubhead speed, but according to the very accurate City Park monitors my driver ball speed is around 150-155. Looks like that correlates to low 100’s clubhead speed. So that.

85-90

Since I recently had neck surgery I don't try to max out. Doubt I will again.

Since I am tall, I have a big swing arc that helps with the driving.

The smoother you swing the further the ball goes.

25 years ago when I was entering long drive competitions, my swing speed and most importantly my smash numbers was up there.

These are my absolute favorite threads on here along with the guys who regularly claim driver carry distances greater than PGA stats.

Average PGA driver swing speed is 115. There are like ten guys on Tour topping 120 and DeChambeau is 129. Yet we have a number of amateurs on TD that are at 120?

I would say the poster who said “I thought it was way faster but it’s actually 90 MPH” is the guy getting it right. I am square in that category. A year ago I would have argued I am swinging at 100. Then I got on a real launch monitor and it brought me back to Earth. Solid 89-92.

Straight from my Garmin R50 from my latest speed training session. Sorry if you can't believe that an ex college baseball player can generate more club head speed than 135 pound Akshay Bhatia or 5'5 Brian Harman. Hell Bryson got out driven by Curry several times in his video as well as a 16 year old it one of his recent videos. I played with a guy last year who decided to give long drive a chance and just won the National Championship in his first try. He tops out at ~155 swing speed and 235 ball speed. I've played with some teens at the club who top out at 125-130.

Pros are pros because they have pinpoint distance control and repeatability with their irons, and they putt lights out. Not because they hit the ball the farthest.

Hell, find Micah Morris vs Rory Long drive comp. I'll give you one guess on who won. The YouTuber.

Link to the guys Instagram if you want to see actual speed. His swing looks like shite though so be warned.

And a recent good one on the course.
